anyone ever have trouble with a 2 yr old that looks older

i was just wondering. My friend 2 year old looks much older ( just turned 2) I was wondering if she would be botherd getting in to the park. her 5 year old looks 7. she just has bigger kids. has anyone ever had problems?

We have never had a problem. My children have always fallen in the 90-95% on the height growth charts are there was never a question asked on any of our trips.

Mine was questioned a few times entering the park as we neared her third birthday (she is a tall girl) but when I told them she was two, they let us right in.

My dd (tiny, and in a stroller) was questioned directly. Oh, and the cm at the gate, in making general conversation with my other kids, asked ds5 how old he was, but then asked how old his "baby sister" was. If the child is truly 2, there is nothing to worry about. It's when kids are coached to lie that it MAY get tricky, because kids slip up.

Tell her that if she is concerned, carrying a birth certificate copy relieves a bit of stress, lol.

My son is extremely tall for his age, (6 years old and 53 inches tall.) We took him to Disney just two months before his 3rd b-day. He was the height of a four year old and we were never questioned at Disney.

Interestingly, the Golden Corral where we at breakfast alot on that trip only questioned us when he was walking next to us, not when he was being carried. So, I think with a large child it could help if you carry them. Their face generally looks appropriate to their age (my DS's does) and nobody notices their height then.

We are going the week before my DD's 3rd birthday and I am even afraid that she'll say she's 3 considering that we'll all be pumping her full of "turning three" talk. So just for my own comfort, I'm gonna be carrying around her birth certificate.

DD 8 looks about 10 or 11 years old, she's really tall. I'm carrying a copy of her birth certificate with me, just in case I need it for character meals, don't want to pay the adult price. On the other hand, my 4 year old is a little on the short side, so we'll never have a problem with her.

I was wondering that also. my nine year old is 61'' tall, just a little over 5'. he has always been in the 95% or above for his height. in just a few inches he will be taller than i am. But there are two kids in his class that are taller than him a girl she is 5'5'' and a boy 5'4''. Just very tall kids. He will be 10 a week after we return in Sept.

My ds5 is only 33lbs and was in a stroller. They did not ask ONCE! And he's 5!!! I still entered his ticket, but I couldn't believe they didn't even pay attention to him at all!! We were there 10 days! I'm not encouraging anyone to lie about their childrens age, this was just our experience. Just so you know, if you don't enter their ticket.. you can not use it to get fastpasses!! I forgot once and found out the hard way!

We get the same thing with our daughter - she's 4 and 48" tall.

Our daughter is tall for her age as well, and we went literally weeks before her third birthday, and we were only questioned once at the Crystal Palace breakfast. I told them she was two, and they accepted that just fine. The problem I ran into the next year when she was just-turned-3-and-looked-5, was going to MGM for the first time and asking the CM if the ride was appropriate for little ones. She took one look at DD and said, "Oh yeah, she'll be fine!" Needless to say, she was not fine, freaked out the whole time! I learned to do my homework before getting on any ride after that!

Let's remember that this is Disney, and they are all about customer service. Accusing guests of bringing in overage children is not good for busniess, and worse if they're wrong. I'm sure they'd rather let in "iffy" 3-4 year olds than offend those with older looking 2 year olds.

And from what everyone is saying, it looks like that is the case.

Cracking down on 3 yeas olds would be:
1) Disruptive to crowds entering the parks
2) Upset paying guests (How many times does a cop stop you on the street because you look "like" you may commit a crime.)
3) Time consuming to CMs (If a parent really pushed it, the CM really has no evidence to contradict the parent. If the family is denied entry, see point 2.)

It is WAY more effective and profitable to allow a few older children into the parks at 2 years olds than to accuse 2yros of being older.

Having a both a smaller and a bigger child I understand where you are coming from. My oldest who was always around the 50% mark was never really asked for her ticket until she was 5. We had one when she was 3yr and 4yr, but sometimes she was allowed in with out a ticket they just over looked her.

Now her younger sister has always been 95% in height and hasn't been question how old she was. Some people think she is 4, but she corrects them that she just turned 3 in April.

This will be her first year that she needs a ticket. I think there are 3 factors they look at if they are riding in a stroller, the face you can really tell the 3yr old from 2 yr old just by the face, and just how busy they are.

It really is not a problem just to say almost 3 they understand they deal with it day in day out. There are some people the cheat and eventually they will be caught maybe not disney. Also if they turn 3 during the trip they still count as 2.

My son has been big since birth (12+ lbs) and off the charts for years. Weve never been questioned, but because he could never get his age right, I made a wallet size copy of his birth certificate and a current photo of him, then laminated it just in case he was questioned, or even lost. He also wears an id bracelet all the time and it has his dob on there too.
