Anyone ever have anything stolen while at DisneyWorld?

I actually haven't had anything stollen, but, sort of did a swap. When coming off of an attraction, I think it was the Haunted Mansion, our stroller was gone. We had nothing of value in it, but, there happened to be an identical stroller still sitting there, also with nothing in it. The only reason why I knew this wasn't my stroller is that I usually tie ribbon around the side bar, and this stroller did not have any ribbon!

So, let's say, we swapped the same stroller, neither stroller had anything of value in it!

This past June, I had a terry cloth cover-up stolen while I took a quick dip in the pool at Stormalong Bay. It did not look like a towel, so I'm sure it was no mistake. Fortunately, I only had my room key in the pocket, and was able to have that cancelled and reissued immediately. It really put a damper on my last day of vacation.

Thieves never take a holiday or vacation I even think some might even work all types of theme parks and make more then the cost of the price to get in. I'm sorry but in todays world I have lost alot of trust in things and always try to be careful.

I bought a camping pack at Walmart for about $8 . I can put my camera, diapers, snacks, powerade, and even a change of clothes for my son in it...
That way you dont have to leave anything on your stroller...

looked for this at our walmart. couldn't find it. shame.

even though it is Disney it doesn't mean there aren't theifs there. no way would I leave anything unguarded.

Duh!! Know that now! But at the time the CM said it would be safer then getting it wet on the ride(pre-DIS,did not have ziplock bag handy)and assured me that he would keep an eye out.Hmmm now that I think about it maybe the CM took my camera..... :sad2:

One year when we were at Typhoon Lagoon my dad put his money in a ziplock bag in his shorts(not to smart we know :rotfl: ) and of course it came out somewhere in the lazy river. We search frantically for it when a family with a son asks what we're looking for.We tell them and the boy had found it and turned it in to a CM.Never to be seen again!!! No doubt Disney took care of us(and I'm sure the stealing CM) but it can happen.

:guilty: this past friday we were on the carousel and when we got off left behind a camera bag.....with dd's inhaler, 2 memory chips, a nice kodak digtal camera. we realized it about a half hour later and went back.....nope no one turned it in. it was our last day.

Our last trip it was our first time at Disney. We were assured by the CM at the stroller corral that our belongings(including camcorder) would be safe while on SM(splash). Came off ride and found our stroller gone, along with our camera, video camera, and some souveniers. We were devestated. All our film of the trip was gone, and our daughter refused to ride in the disney stroller. Luckily it was our last day.

Unfortunately, yes people steal even at Disney:(
and worse even from children.

This is so sad and true. Somebody "found" my son's gamebody at GF resort before he realized it was lost. It had his name and our phone number on it, but, they didn't bother to call or to turn it into lost and found. Sadly, he was 6 at the time, and the game inside would be only attractive to a 6yo. It didn't have a charger. Personally, if I saw my son had found something, I would make him turn it in. As a matter of fact, Mr. Sharpeyes, my lovely son, has found ladies' purses on several occasions that were left on rides, and dutifully turned them in (he is 8 now). Truly a boy to make a mom proud.

When dh & I were at WDW this past May - we didn't hear about anything being stolen or anything, and luckily it didn't happen to us. We did see a child's toy that someone had picked up and put it off to the side so that if the kid came back he/she could find it. We thought that was real nice.

Also - I guess we were very lucky (especially after reading some stories here) but dh & I went to eat at the Mexican outdoor restaurant at Epcot and left our ECV at the front entrance. Dh also "forgot" about the video camera which was sitting right in the basket in plain sight! We ordered our food, ate, and sat for a little bit. As we were gathering our things, that is when we noticed that the video camera was missing. Yikes! We rush back to the EVC and low and behold it was still there. Thank God! We were amazed it was still there. I kept thinking "well it was nice while it lasted!" After that I always checked the basket before leaving the EVC (just in case!)

My sister left her camera behind one time in a ride/attraction (it was Muppetvision 3D, I think)... When she realized it was gone, we asked the CMs in there to look for it, and we checked Lost & Found several time. Unfortunately, someone decided to keep it. =/

Same situation - different ride. Someone kept my brand new camera we left in a ride seat. I was almost more upset about losing the pictures.

Our umbrella was taken from under my husbands seat in the tiki room, and we had a disney store towel stolen at typhoon lagoon, now I know why people rent towels there. But this is small potatoes compared to what other people have had stolen (live and learn).

Not stolen, per se but didn't have things returned.

Left an expensive set of knives in OKW villa. Called within thirty minutes of checkout. Told the room had not been cleaned yet. Called back two hours later. Same story. Called back four hours later... next day... week later... no knives.

Left a small inexpensive video camera on the bench in The Land. Went back for it, and nope. Gone.

Those sorts of things, eh?

Saw a guest pick up a camera forgotten on the tables by Yakitori House in Japan. Clearly not his. He took it anyway. I spoke to a CM about it, the CM felt there was nothing to be done.

I'm really cautious about what I leave unattended. I'm even more cautious about packing up to leave!

June 2005 we had one of those spray bottles that you can purchase down there that have the characters on them and they have a fan and spray water to keep you cool...well my DS left it on the stroller while at an attraction at Epcot and came out to find it gone. He was soooo upset. He really couldn't figure out why someone would take something that didn't belong to them. Anyway, my husband was going to buy him another one and the castmember asked what was wrong so DH explained the situation and the castmember gave DS another one no charge. Since then we don't leave anything on the stroller.

We have never had anything stolen, but then again we do not leave anything in the stroller that could not easily be replaced. I always take anything that is expensive or irreplaceable with me. It is sad, but there are thieves everywhere just waiting to take advantage of someone letting their guard down. I am so sorry to hear of so many people losing items such as cameras and photo cards as these cannot be "replaced." :sad2:
