Anyone ever had anything stolen out of their stroller?

The only thing I have had stolen out of a stroller was a half-consumed soda cup that my three year old niece had been slobbering over for the past couple hours. We left it in the stroller's cup holder, went on some Fantasyland ride, and when we came back, it was gone. Whoever it was probably got more spit, that soda. It serves them right.

Do you real think anyone is stealing because their kid NEEDS a sweatshirt? They are stealing because they don't care about others. .

Well it sounded like the point you were making was that they are stealing because they're so poor they had to save up for years to go in the first place.

If they got "the magic" they'd be there to experience it and not to steal. That was my point..

Really? Because again, it sounded like the point you were making was (see above).

Hmmm, my point was clearly lost somewhere. I wasn't just talking all about you. And I never suggested those who save up go around stealing. I really think you misunderstood what I was saying altogether.. .

That's kind of exactly what your message sounded like. Maybe it would be most helpful to proofread your posts to see if they are conveying what you actually mean to say. Then maybe people won't misunderstand them. :confused3

My biggest point is, if you don't leave your stuff laying around people won't steal it. .

Personal belongings that are crammed into the bottom basket of a stroller (which is private property) isn't leaving it "laying around". Leaving a hat on a bench...*that* would be leaving it laying around. (My kids have long outgrown strollers so it isn't an issue for me anymore)...but I still think people should be able to leave things like baby food and diapers in a stroller at Disneyland (can you imagine carrying a diaper bag on every ride?) without having to worry that some loser will steal it.

Never, but I leave nothing in the stroller at all.

I am always dumbfounded by the number of strollers I see with diaper bags, videocameras and more left unattended. If you wouldn't leave it unattended at the mall why would you at Disneyland? And if you leave it unattended and then items go missing is this really all that surprising? Really?

Just curious....I like to think all people are good and decent, but there are a few bad apples out there. Anyone ever have an experience of somebody stealing something from their stroller while it was parked, or even somebody just taking off with your stroller? We plan on bringing our double stroller along, and will probably just have a small cooler, back-back with baby/toddler essentials etc. All the important stuff will be on us (cash, CC's, phones, etc.).

DLR is just like anywhere else...if you value it - don't leave it. We didn't have any problem but all we left was a couple of "it's my first visit buttons" on the stroller and it was our stroller but we saw people have their stroller taken...and stuff taken out of the stroller as well.

I never had my stroller messed with. My kids were beyond the diaper days when we went, but I still took a small diaper bag that I could leave wipes, etc. in. Never had it touched.

Yes in 2004 we had all our souvies stolen from the basket in our stroller (lesson learned lol) while in ToonTown. We immediately told a cast member and they replaced everything that had been stolen for us at no cost to us:goodvibespixiedust:

That is amazing! We haven't ever had anything stolen (although, reading this thread outloud to my mom, she said that their Disneyland rented stroller was stolen once when I was a kid. Not stolen, I'm sure somebody took our's by mistake.)

But it is a big fear of mine. We never leave "valuables" in the stroller. (ie cameras, phones, wallets etc) but honestly, when you go with kids, EVERYTHING is valuable!! I would be so upset if somebody took our stroller! Or even the damn diaper bag!! But not enough to leave our stroller at home or carry the diaper bag contents on my back all day long. It's just a risk you take I guess. :confused3

That's how we felt about it too. Honestly replacing the diaper bag had it ever been stolen would have been less of a pain in the rear than carrying it everywhere. We were lucky, nothing ever went missing, but we never left anything that wasn't replacable in there either.

Or maybe you should reread what I said:

Umm, this isn't the case at all. Many families save up for years for tickets and a motel room. Sweatshirts and watches aren't even a thought for them. Maybe an ice cream bar, if they are lucky. Others win tickets, and many are big Disney fans, but some just called at the right time and didn't even know the prize, know what I mean? And since they didn't work or save to get there, and they aren't fans, they don't appreciate the magic and if they see something they want they will take it. It isn't the norm, but it is reality.

It is clear that when I talk about not getting the magic I'm talking about those that win tickets when they weren't even trying; not those who saved up. There are clear periods between sentences and thoughts. I don't know how to make it any clearer. I even said, "and since they didn't work or SAVE to get there..." so it seems clear to me. I'm sorry you misread it.

It is unrealistic to think there aren't thiefs at DL. They don't realize it's only baby stuff. I already addressed that we carry our backpack on all rides. We switch who carries it, but I wouldn't dream of leaving it unattended.

Exactly! I know we all want it to be untouched by the evils of the world, but that just isn't so.

Hat on a bench. Sweatshirt in a stroller. Same thing. Items that are unattended that clearly belong to someone else.

DL didn't just put a hat on the bench for the first person to find and keep. It was someone's. And everyone knows it. The sweatshirt I dropped when crossing Main Street and noticed was gone within 10 seconds, clearly belonged to someone --- although that was not of concern to the person who found it.

DH and I are AMAZED at what people leave in a stroller. You asked about carrying a diaper bag through every ride. We carry a large backpack throughout WDW with us when we travel there. We would NEVER dream of putting our backpack on the ground right outside of PotC and expect it to be there when we get back. Why do people with strollers think that somehow a stroller is "safe zone"? We just don't get it. A diaper bag or a camera bag. Either one is temptation to grab and find out what's in it later.

My advice to the world? If you wouldn't leave it sitting in front of a busy grocery store on a busy day, don't leave it in a stroller parked unattended at Disneyland. People are people and people with needs / wants are everywhere.
