I am going on a family trip- my sister's family is staying at the Yacht Club, and we are DVC. To stay close, I booked Boardwalk Villas because Beach Club Villas were booked. My heart was really set on Beach Club Villas, so I had them waitlist me- (July11th- 18th). Does anyone think there is any amount of pixie dust that could make this work out??? Should I call every few days? Will they think I am a pest?? Help!:thumbsup2

I'm guessing since you wanted to be close to the Yacht Club that you waitlisted for BCV (Beach Club Villas), correct?

It is the smallest resort so it could be difficult. Are you willing to take individual days if they open up and risk moving? If not then you're probably ok just waiting to see if the waitlist fills without calling. And if you don't get BCV the BWV's are a very short walk and I think you did really well to get that!

Here's some pixie dust for your waitlist though!!! pixiedust:

Ah - you changed it while I was typing! :)

We were on a wait list for BCV, BWV, or VWL for three months and it never came through. We leave in a couple of hours for OKW.

My waitlists for BCV have always come through but I never try to get more than 2-3 days on a waitlist. If I were going to try for more I would add them on after getting a “base” reservation. Of course this leaves a good chance of having to do a split stay. I also call to pick up individual days weekly.

Unless stormalong pool is a must, if you can get a Boardwalk view or request a room that is close to the boardwalk it is not much further from BWV to Yacht Club than it is from BCV since BCV is at the opposite end from Yacht Club.

I booked 7/19 -7/24 in a 2 bedroom (1q w/1q sb in 2nd bedroom), I waitlisted for 2 queens in 2nd bedroom. My waitlist came through 5 days later. I booked at exactly 7 month window. We then decided to take 3 night DCL cruise, so I downgraded to a 1br in Jan, got the 1br for 7/18-7/24, without waitlist. When the 4/3 deal was extended into July, canceled the BCV ressie and booked SSR for 7 nights to get more time at WDW and used the points for the cruise. Good luck, I've always had luck getting into BCV, though I've always called at EXACTLY the 7 month window.

I had a BCV waitlist come through for spring break a couple of years ago. I had reserved three studios and they all came through a couple of months beforehand. It happens. I'm hoping for another waitlist to come through for BCV for April 15, but I doubt it will at this point.

Goodluck!

I have one night waitlisted for a 2bedroom at BCV's in June. I'm always interested to see how much luck others had since this is the first time I've ever had to waitlist. Right now I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to list for my 2nd request. I'm really nervous about switching resorts. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

My wait list did come through over the 4th of July weekend last year so you never know.

Good Luck

We called promptly at 7 months for a week in a BCV studio starting August 16 and one night in the middle of the week was not available. We went ahead & booked BWV for the week and waitlisted BCV. It came thru the next day!
