We juat got a postcard with a Pin # for value at $109. I called from the car....3 min after we received it. Again, no handicapped rooms available at this rate. There are some at a higher room rate and a higher class of rooms. I would love to know the # of handicapped rooms available when they send these out. This is the second time this has happened. There are rooms avaliable but not handicapped ones but there are handicapped ones at a higher rate........it just does not seem fair. Anyone have the same problem. I guess we just stay at POR for more $ with our original reservation. I was so hoping to save some $$ on this trip.

We got pin for 40% off. Last year got a room in Values for $49 over Christmas for 14 nights. This year got preferred Movies for $56 nightly. Could only get the room for 8 nights there but was able to get 3 more night at Port Orleans French Quarters for $89.

For the December 40% offer. The dates were Dec 7th- 18th. Not as many nights under this offer, but good just the same!

The rooms are limited with these pin offers including accessible rooms.

The pin codes have limited room availability to start with, so if all rooms in the value resorts are gone, then everyone booking would have to choose a moderate or deluxe regardless of whether or not they needed an accessible room. There isn't a difference in accessible rooms with discounts vs. non-accessible rooms. It could be that all the accessible rooms have already been reserved during your timeframe at the resort you prefer. That's rarely happened to me and never at the value resorts as they seem to have more availability to start with ( since they're larger and thus there's a requirement for more rooms with roll in showers, etc.). This year there have been pin codes out for a few months and with many people booking to get such a great discount, it doesn't surprise me that availability is now scarce. Those of us who need a roll in shower know we have to book early to be assured that we'll get what we want since it's first come, first served. At this point yes, you'd have to book whatever resort still has accessible rooms available since it isn't as though they didn't originally have what you needed- they're just now gone. You can certainly keep calling back as there could be cancellations- lots of people change plans.---Kathy

Have you tried to apply the PIN number to your current reservation? I've never recieved a PIN code before but I've used Annual Passholder Rates a few times. I usually book my room with a AAA rate and then when the AP rate came out I just call up and ask if I can apply the new AP rate to my current reservation. Since I've already got a roll in shower booked the only deciding factor is whether there are AP rates available for that resort and class of room.

We got a card in the mail. We are going to just stick with our POR ressies. They are more but we are all set with rooms for DS. Thanks everyone!

I too want to know what PIN's are. I do know that POP has HCA rooms but if they are all booked then you may have to get one of the more expensive rooms. Maybe you could get ahold of the Special Reservations line and see what they could do for you. I would think putting you in a non HCA room when you specifically asked for one and would definately need one would be a violation of ADA codes laws.

You can check out the Resorts/Codes and Rates area for more information about PINs.

Basically it's a special discount offer for rooms or a package from Disney to a specific person. Usually it's an EMAIL or Postcard sent to that person and only the person who it is addressed to can use it. It's different from the normal general public offers and usually better. PIN usually stand for Personal Identification Code and in this caes is it's the special code given to the individual to identify the discount offered to just them.

PINs are sent out by Disney based on some unknown criteria. There doesn't seem to be any way to guess who will or will not get a code and no way to get Disney to send you a code.

Probably not.
They would have to have handicapped rooms available somewhere in proportion to the number of non-handicapped rooms. If it is the same proportion as they are required to have accessible rooms in the resort in general, it might only be 2 rooms with roll in shower for 200 rooms available.
But trying Special Reservations might still be helpful.

When you call to make a reservation and tell the agent you need an accessible room ( either fully accessible with roll in shower, or accessible with tub/rails- meaning you are ambulatory but need a little help with balance, etc) then the room is blocked by special services. If you're put on hold and the res agent then tells you that there are no accessible rooms available for the resort you're requesting then you have to choose another one. It doesn't mean there aren't accessible rooms- just that they've already been reserved by other guests. There is no violation of ADA- accessible rooms are first come first served, and when they're gone, they're gone. Calling back is helpful in case another guest cancels what you need. Being flexible is also helpful. Sometimes if you want a particular mod resort, for instance and the accessible rooms are no longer available, they can check for rooms at another mod resort, esp. if you're wanting to use a discount code. Sometimes the code only applies to certain resorts or certain dates so it's not always easy to find both the discount and then still availability for the room type you need. Booking early is really everyone's best bet if you're set on a particular resort and esp. if you need a roll in shower. The OP booked early to get the resort and rooms she wanted at POR- good thing she did as it sounds like for her dates, the room type her family needs is no longer available. ---Kathy
