Anyone Ever Gone To WDW and Not Taken A Camera?

DH and I are throwing around the idea of going to WDW in February for my 30th birthday. Just him and me, not kids. Well, actually I'm slamming him in the face with the idea, and he's wiping it off, but I think one of these times it will stick.

Anyway, when the kids go I love to take pictures. In fact, last trip I took 13 rolls of film. Now, I WILL have new digital camera before then. So, I could always take it and know we wont' "Waste film" But, DH doesn't like me taking his picture. So, do I just leave it at home or at the resort? I would love to take a picture of the goofy stature because we always do, but has anyone ever gone around for most of their vacation without the camera and NOT regretted it?

I went a few years ago with my sister and although I might have taken my camera, I don't think I took it out of the room the entire time. We've been to WDW so many times that I have pictures of just of about everything. I'm not a very good photographer and don't enjoy taking pictures, so it was actually nice enjoying the parks without lugging around a camera and worrying about getting that 'perfect shot'. When I go with my DDs, though, I always take a camera because those pictures are priceless!

My DH and I (no kids) live near Disney and go all the time, so sometimes I don't bring my camera and those always seem to be the times that I see that character I've been wanting a picture witih or something that makes me wish I had my camera! I would say bring it just in case!

I convinced DH not to bring the video camera because we have too much stuff to bring in the parks as it is. But a camera he can;t do without and after seeing the pics, Im glad we brought it. This time I may see of we will just bring our digital camera.

I have many, many pictures of the same things taken from the same angles at the parks! I can't stand it, I have to snap a picture of our favorite things there as well as new things. The most regrettable moment without a camera was at USF when I was randomly selected to be the "mother" in the "Psycho" play in the "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" show. My family got a kick out of it but has no photograph to tease me about. The most memorable moment with a camera is of our Star Wars crazy son when Chewbacca got ahold of him and wouldn't turn loose (at least until we got some very good pics!!). Would never leave my camera at home no matter how many times we've been.pirate:

Here's my funny camera story. In March of 2003, I took the kids on a spontaneous trip (4 days notice!). I was flying out with the kids and meeting DH in Orlando after 3 days (he was on Business in Tampa). We had a trip planned in July so this was just an extra trip so I just brought the digital (no scrapbooking). Well, 1 day into the trip, my son (6) drops it on the ground at the pool. Breaks completely, won't even turn on! Oh well... I refused to buy the expensive throw-aways for pictures we could take in July, right? WRONG! On our way out of MK one afternoon (12 noon) we exit toward the left of the train station. Who is standing in the shady area next to Tony's? Yep! Cinderella! With only 3 kids in line! WAY too good to be true! So we hop in line so my girls (2, 4) could see her. We get up to her, she talks a bit to the girls, they are smiling ear to ear, she poses them and looks up at me. There I am, staring right back at her! :o I have no camera, I say. She looked at me like I had two heads, but laughed about it. Oh well... as you can see, that is still in my memory!

With kids, I will always have a camera. In fact, now we always bring a film camera and the digital. Just in case. As adults, nah, I would leave it at home. Just enjoy the World without looking through the viewfinder! :sunny:

Have Fun!

We did just what you are trying to do last April for our Anniversary and it was FANTASTIC! Although, it did hurt in MK... just didn't feel right walking down Main Street without the kids.

I've left my camera at home a few times since I've been so many times but I always end up wishing I had it once I'm there. I like not having the extra weight in my backpack but it seems like there is always something I want a picture of when I don't have that stinking camera! So now it just goes with me everywhere, especially to WDW. :)
