Anyone ever gone the 2nd week of December? How bad were the crowds?

I'm trying to prepare for the worst, we have never been during the holidays, but I was curious if anyone has ever gone the 2nd week of December and how bad crowds/wait times were. We are going Sunday the 9th, Monday the 10th, and Tuesday the 11th?

We're going that same week, first ever trip to Disneyland. We ultimately decided on the 2nd week because crowds were still supposed to be reasonable but park hours & shows started to expand for the season. From what we've heard, crowd levels aren't too bad, they don't seem to really intensify until the week before Christmas. Still with the DCA expansion and Candlelight Processional things could be different this year. We're hoping for the best!

We live in Hawaii & we go to Disneyland every year around that time. I have found that the parks are at their best crowd wise right after Thanksgiving all the way up till the 16th of December. After that the crowd tends to pick up. It may be busier due to the new additions such as Cars Land but it will still be way better than going during Christmas week.

We love being there during that time because the crowds are manageable, all the decorations are up, the hotel costs are down, and they often have special events such as The Candelight Processional and the falling snow after the fireworks show. Plus we love the cold weather seeing that we live in Hawaii and get sun almost all year round.

Yeah coming from Hawaii anything below 60 degrees is cold to us. You can tell we are from Hawaii because we are wearing scarfs, gloves, hats, double layers of Jackets and boots,lol.

I think you've chosen a great time to go. I'd expect Sunday to be alittle crazy but come Monday & Tuesday I think you'll be fine
