I'm trying to decide if it's worthwhile to have my DS & his family get trip insurance for their Jan trip. The hotel would not be covered as we are renting points, which is considered a time share. SW gives credit with no change fee if you cancel your flight so you don't lose anything if you have to cancel last minute. Has anyone had any experience with getting trip insurance to cover cancelled Southwest flights?

I can't see how trip insurance would help with anything there. Everything seems to be easily canceled.

The only issue with SW is that the credit will only be good to the anniversary of *booking* it.
