Anyone ever get a DVC room upgrade

I was upgraded from a value studio to a full-size savanna-view studio last year during Easter week.

It was wonderful. There are not many value studios, so I assume something happened to the room. It was assigned, and about 15 minutes we got a call to come get new keys and the upgrade. Standard view would have been an upgrade, so savanna-view was extra nice. I appreciated the extra room too - as those values are teeny.

I am getting a little concerned because we booked AKL studio standard view King, Jambo House for our 25th Anniversary. Are these all parking lot views? We are new to this and didnt know about these boards at time of reservation. We are going FEB 11-17. Would I be able to pay cash to upgrade to savannah view if available?

We were moved from a studio at SSR to a 1BR but it was due to complications in our room. We had several problems upon check-in including the room was not clean along with finding blood on the bedding for the sofa bed and a few other things. I did not request to be upgraded but moved to another studio. However we ended up in the DVC offices and they wanted to know everything that happened and see the pictures I had taken to document what all was wrong in the first room. The manager we were dealing seemed to be pretty disgusted with the pictures. So we got a call saying they were moving us to a 1BR and hoped the rest of our stay was more up to the DVC quality. This was our 1st trip on our DVC so not sure if that played into it or not.

Not if you booked your stay on points.

It sounds to me like you are booked at the Lodge through CRO and not through DVC. I think that's the only way you get a king bed in a studio. Standard view will likely be pool view.

I think they rented a reservation from a member.

It has a handful of times what other posters have noted, but largely only in cases where the part you ordered to be closed for maintenance and they have not an equivalent space to sit.

I missed that one, Diane. There is no king sized bed in the studio. Only a queen and a double sleeper sofa.

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought they told me it was 1 king but maybe they meant 1 queen. I will have to read through my reservations again. I actually have 2 seperate ones that have been linked.
