Anyone ever get a day-of rezzie at CP or CM??

Hi everyone! When I called on Friday to check on availability at CM or CP for our stay the guy I talked to said he used to work at CM and many times people would cancel the day of and to call the morning I'd like and see if we could get in via someone's cancellation.

Has anyone had luck getting into either of these restaurants that way for breakfast?

I hope this works for us, because I have called several times for CP and it's all booked for the day we need it! We planned on just walking up at lunch (early) but I guess calling the morning of would be smarter.

When at WDW call around 5 pm the day before and ask if any times are available for what ever meal you wish. Do not be specific on times, kust breakfast, lunch or dinner. You could also try at 7 am the day of too.

We were able to get Cindy's for brealkfast the next day, by calling at 5 pm the day before, just no time speicified. We a Cindy's breakfast at 10 am the next day and it was wonderful.

People do cancell and are polite with their ADR's.

So I would definitely try.

I was able to get CM about 30 minutes before our reservation time for breakfast. I had already called twice that morning and wasn't able to get anything except breakfast at GF. I took it but kept calling back to check on CM on our way to MK to hop on the monorail. As we pulled into MK, I snagged a cancellation at CM for 30 mins from then! So it pays to check right up until the time you want a reservation for! Good luck!

Two years ago I didn't book CP and DD4 said that we HAD to go there on our first day, like we had done for a couple of previous visits. So I called in the morning and they had nothing available. I walked up around 11:15 and they told me to come back at 12. I walked up at 11:50 and they told me to come back at 12. They had told me earlier that if they were to take walk ups that everyone in the party had to be there. So at 12 while I was waiting for the rest of my party, they were taking every walkup that came. Finally the rest of my party got there and they took us in.
