Anyone ever get a birthday button from all the parks?

When my DD, Natalie, came down in '04, she was going to be there for her 24th (she also celebrated her 19th in '99). I was there a few days before her and went to all the parks to get her buttons and give them to her for her day. She wore them all, we had a wonderful time. :goodvibes

A few pictures from the day, including one of one of the buttons. She had the others on her bag strap I think. And yes, LOTS of special attention, all day long. :thumbsup2

We just got back this week and my DD 7th birthday was on the last day of our trip. We got Birthday buttons at the parks for the 2 days preceding her actual day. AK, MK, and Epcot. She was greeted with "Happy Birthday" for both days and everywhere we went (counter-service) they gave her a "free" birthday dessert. (Table service, as well). Since we were on the "Free" DDP, this wasn't as big a deal as it would have been if we weren't.

Have a great :bday:

I would love to do this for my DH. He would get kick out of everyone making a big deal for his b-day, although he probably wouldn't admit it :goodvibes

We were just there and it was my Aunts b-day we got a pin at each park for her and ordered a special cake for her at CRT!!

I did this 2 weeks ago during my trip. I got a button and wore it all week as it was my b-day trip also. I didn't know that there was a DTD button so I didn't get it. I will next time I go just to complete the collection. Also the MGM button is now different from the MK button. There are also buttons for anything else you are celebrating that just say congratulations (just an FYI)

I was wondering if the Congratulations buttons are different for each park. My DH and I are planning to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary next year with, what else, a trip to WDW.

Also, is the DTD b-day button different than the ones from the parks?

TIA!

Marie

lately MGM has been giving out a different birthdaty button ... ie NOT the castle graphic button that is given out at MK.

During our trip in 04, DS and I both had birthdays - mine at the very beginning of our trip, and his at the end. So I wore the button for the first couple of days, and he wore it for the remainder of the time. It was the little things that made it so much fun - cast members saying "Happy birthday!!!", characters making comments, etc. I don't recall getting any "freebies", but Captain Hook tried to take me away from DH. It was great fun!

We went to MVMCP one night and watched the parade. DS was wearing the button that night. We enjoyed watching the floats go by, and 5many times the street performers waved to him or gave him a high-5. When Belle and Beast went by in their carriage, they stopped in front of us. Belle looked over at DS, waved at him, and said, "Happy birthday, prince!". I caught the whole thing on video, including DS's priceless reaction. I think in that moment he developed a little bit of a crush on Belle.

I hope your son has a great birthday trip!

Lately we have been going the 1st week of November (which ends up being my dd6's birthday trip - 11/1) and she loves collecting the pins. Again because it is her birthday trip she wears them the whole vacation. She gets a kick out of CM's wishing her a happy birthday and the smile is from ear to ear. two years ago while at dinner at Paris the staff came over with an accordian player and sang happy birthday in french (which I loved because I was a french major in college) and she couldn't believe it. Also on entering AK the CM who did security noticed her pin and 'announced' her enterance into the park with a song along with a round of applause. Cute little things that mean the world to a little girl!

She doesn't know about the DTD pin, so if we head over this year I will have her get one there too!

We were in the world for my 33rd birthday in January of this year. My DD's 4 and 6 made sure to get a button for me at each park that day. Several characters waved and said Happy Birthday from the Share a Dream Come True parade. My DD's (with help from my DH) reserved us 3 girls an afternoon at the GF spa for manicures. While there, the CM's noticed my birthday buttons and gave me a bottle of lotion. A great day!

Thanks for the posts & well wishes! I loved seeing the pics, Dan, thanks for sharing those too! :)

I think he will wear the pins on a lanyard, that way he can put it on over a t-shirt during the day & then over his sweatshirt or jacket if it is cold that night.

And while I don't expect anything from this at all, except his excitement over getting/wearing them, a cute smile or wave from a character or CM would be great. :)
