We are flying airtran on the 25th of this month to Disney and I was wondering how the seating working. We got paper tickets so I do not think I can do the whole internet check in thing. It will be me dh and 3 dd's ages 1, 4 and 7. We have never been on a plane and I think my girls are going to be a little nervous. I was wondering how it works. Will we all be sitting together or will we have to wait until everyone that has seat numbers boards the plane? I looked and looked and could not find our seat numbers on the tickets but Disney told me we would have assigned seats so I am so confussed!

Also, can I pack food in my suitcase? Dh says no but I think I can. I am not packing anything liquid just some snack for the kids. ( I am also taking some on the palne as well)

Thanks in advance! Candice

We flew air tran last year, but were able to print boarding passes 24 hours ahead. I would definately call and find out what you need to do it make sure your seats are together. We sat 2 and 3 (DH with older DD and DS, me with DD5), but were close together or across the aisle on all flights (we had connecting both ways).

I packed snacks in our suitcase and carryon. No problem.

When I flew AirTran a few years ago, it was first come first serve. But they almost always allow those with children to board first.

Make sure you snacks are dry snacks!! I took applesauce for my DS, it was fine flying out of Philadelphia. But MCO searched me and ALL of our carry one bags, and wouldn't allow us to take applesauce!!!

I guess they were afraid we might goop up a lock or something! (not a fan of some of the flying rules)

AirTran is not first come first served - Southwest is, sort of.

It sounds like you booked the airfare through Disney? In that case, I would call AirTran directly and request your seats. If you booked through AirTran, you can select your seats on-line (unless you got a very low fare deal, in which case they don't allow you to choose seats until 24 hours before the flight).

I assume you have four seats (DD1 is a lap baby?). Most (if not all) AirTran planes are configued with two seats on the left side of the aisle and three on the right. So, you might be able to get a two and a two set up. If not, you might be sharing a row with someone.

I've flown them many times for business (and once to WDW) and have never had any trouble.
