Anyone ever do a super short stay??

Your question made me lol, as most of our trips are 3-4 nights!! DD and I are headed back for a 3-nt. trip in Dec., and we find it the perfect amount of time to see our favorites, have some dinners out, and watch fireworks. Since we go frequently, we don't mind skipping anything that has a long line. Our biggest problem is figuring out which of our favorite restaurants to choose! ;)

Have a great trip! :sunny:

Dh and I do this quite often. We generally stay 3 nights. For every longer trip we take centered on our 3 children, we feel we deserve a short trip on our own. It's amazing how much you can do in such a short period of time when you're not herding little ones through the parks!

I've decided to go for it....got excellent airfare and will spend two nights, three days at the Boardwalk - which is new for us. I'm not sure what parks we'll visit... though Epcot for sure, we'll plan one romantic dinner and munch n' go the rest of the time.

I'm looking forward to lots of hand holding and a stroll on the Boardwalk at night!

Sometimes you gotta just Do It!

Thank you to EVERYONE for the encouragement!!!!

Would appreciate it if anyone would share their short stays with me, and tell me if they would do it again.

It is absolutely worth it. We stayed at the Polynesian in November 2001. We were going to wait longer until the children were older, but after the horrid, cowardly attack in September we moved up the schedule. I recall paying only $185 for the Polynesian Garden View that year. We upgraded to concierge after that trip.

I recall the prices as fondly as the trip itself now. LOL!

We've done a few one-night stays at WDW. Usually we dedicate it either to resorts or parks. Basically, if its resorts, we check in and spend all day going to all the nice resorts, checking out the bars/lounges and eating great meals. We usually pick a deluxe resort for these stays so that we're comfortable just staying in our room. When it comes to a park trip, we check in early and try to fit in 3 parks throughout the day (its easy for us to leave AK out since we only go for Dinosaur and Kili Safari) and it works!

So super short stays are do-able, just make sure you an idea of what you want to do. For our trip at the Boardwalk Villas/14th Floor Contemporary we didnt do one park. It was possibly one of the best trips we've had thus far.

Have fun! :3dglasses

p.s. Boardwalk Inn is my favorite resort, you will NOT be disappointed. We party there like rockstars! :3dglasses

ahhhh, you and minnie ARE rock stars as far as I am concerned! :rockband:

I have never done a short stay...seems like every trip to WDW we stay looonger and looonger! But hey, if my DH wanted to surprise me with a quick, weekend getaway, I would not complain! :cool1:

Since DH and I are just a couple of hours away, and DH doesn't like to take time off since he's self-employed, the longest we've ever stayed at WDW has been 3 nights. We always have a WONDERFUL time. There's nothing wrong with going on a vacation that leaves you wanting more! :sunny: If you can get good airfare, why not??

We have annual passes that allow us to park hop, but we spend most of our time walking around Epcot and enjoying the live entertainment, plus eating at a World Showcase restaurant. Other favorites are riding the monorail (love the trip from MK to Epcot at twilight!), riding the boat from Epcot to MGM, and having a slice of pizza on the Boardwalk.

Have a magical time! :wave2:

The shortest stay we've ever done is one night. We drove down, spent the night at CBR, went to MK the next day, and drove home in the afternoon. It was fun, but waaaay too short, I was exhausted!

We do a three-four night trip every July. We call that trip our "Mickey quickie"!

We're about to do a short trip Dec. 23-25th, never did one before. We just did a week in Oct., and just decided to do a short one since our next extended stay won't be until Dec. 2006.

took two trips(late Thurs to sunday afternoon) with DW in the last three years, in addition to the regular yearly family trip. It is our time to do adult things in WDW. Nicer restaurants, a slower pace to appreciate the aura of disney instead of plowing thru to see everything. Some of our best times are during those short, private trips.

We just got back today from doing this! We live in the northeast and can get there on SWA, nonstop flight in a little under 3 hrs. We left Wed. night, got into MCO around 11 pm. Checked in at the Dolphin and headed to MK (extended magic hrs -- they were open til 2 am!) The place was practically empty and we did a lot in the 1 1/2 hrs there. Had Thurs., Fri. and Sat. and flew home this a.m. Plenty of time. We also like to go for long weekends. We flew down for Columbus Day. Got there late Fri.night. Had Sat. and Sun. in the parks and flew home Mon. It's enough to get your Disney fix! We may live far from the parks, but we manage to get there 3-4 times a year, mostly over long weekends. It keeps life fun!
