I am possibly looking into booking a land/sea cruise in oct 2006. Was wondering what the weather is like at that time of year . Warm enough to swim? too rainy? I really want to get the most out of my precious $$$$$.If you guys don't recoomend oct. which other month would be a good choice?

Yes, We cruised in October once. Our experience wasn't great though. BUT I've read here on the DIS that what we experienced wasn't normal. The temps were GREAT, but we sailed during a hurricane. Our itinerary was totally different from the normal eastern, and we went to CC twice. That was nice. But the seas were pretty rough. We were all sick, as I assume most would be if in the midst of 18-20 foot swells. Our most recent Western cruise was this past May. It was PERFECT in every way. Temps, and sea's were smooth as glass. Most likely, your cruise (IF you go in October) will be great. Like I said, ours wasn't normal. You will save boo coo's of $$ if you go in October, but I LOVED our May cruise. It is before the major part of the hurricane season starts!!

Our first cruise back in 2000 was in the early part of October (7-14th I think) and it was beautiful. That was my DH's first cruise and if he had been seasick I am afraid that the other 4 cruises we have taken and the one I have booked for this December would not be. We did encounter rough seas on our Alaskan cruise on our way to Seward (I even got a little green, OK - a lot) and our cruise last September was a bit rough but it was still a fabulous time. You can't predict Mother Nature.

We sailed the 7 day eastern in late October, 2003 and the weather was great. It only rained one evening while at sea and even then the ride was still fairly smooth. The temperatures at the islands were in the high 80's and humid. We had no problem with rain while in any of the ports. :D I would most definitely cruise in October again.

Our first cruise was in October 2002. The weather was beautiful every where, especially at Castaway Cay. No hurricane activity that week, but it can happen. That's why the rates are cheaper. Not to worry, though, ships stay well away from hurricanes, even to the point of adding days to the cruise.

:Pinkbounc :jumping4: :Pinkbounc Go in October! We went late in October '03 (eastern). Most wonderful vacation!!! Went again in late October '04 (western). We were in the very back of the boat and I did feel it. However, we were at the tail end of those nasty hurricanes and everyone said those were the roughest waters they had experienced in quite a while. :guilty:

It couldn't have been too bad, because before we docked, I had booked for October '05. (and I'm ready :jumping1: I'm ready...)

Our first cruise was also in October 2000....we really enjoyed it...overall nice weather, as well as some of the best pricing available all year round....

We did a 4 night Wonder in late October 2003, and enjoyed it.

No rain and it was plenty warm enough to swim on the ship and at Castaway Cay. We combined our trip with a 4 night stay at the BWV.

Enjoy! :boat:
