anyone ever coach girl scouts tball team?

I just signed my DD8 up for girl scouts tball team, and I also signed up to be the coach of the team, since they are having a difficult time finding parents to help out. Anyone here ever coach a girl scouts tball team? Any advice for me?

didn't coach a girl scout team - but did coach a recreaton team for 8 years - and the best advice is to remember that they are girls - i know a lot of dads come in and think that it's all about the game - and it's not - girls are different than boys - and when you think of why the girls signed up - then that's how you coach - some want to play - and are serious - and some want to play with their friends - and you have to work with that - also - everyone wants to pitch - but you should line them up against a fence and see who can throw from a specific distance - and them move those who can reach the fence back - and see who can reach at this distance - once you get the furthest one out you can explain that each will play positions on how far they can throw - it works with them because you explain who can do what - and then tell them that if they want to practice when they can throw stronger they can move to a new spot - but the best advice is to remember that doing this is really rewarding - and worth all of the time that you put into it - years down the road you will see how you helped the kids grow - good luck - and enjoy this time - it goes by real fast -

ps - ice packs are great for emotional hurts - and pack plastic bags for removing earrings - and elastics for pony tails - something only a girls coach must remember
