We went to Ocean City, NJ last year and was told they sell discounted tickets online during the winter. Did anyone ever buy them or know when they go on sale? Thanks, Linda

If you are talking about Wonderland and Playland, those half-price ride ticket books have typically been available around Christmas time (I think), and again around Easter. I remember for years getting them just before Easter - it is on a weekend and I think (at least at that time) it had to be done in person. (I used to send a local family member to stand in the insane lines - we're not locals any more! The ads would appear in the OC-area newspapers, so that's how we always found out the right time.) Not sure if that "in person thing" has changed or not - in this age of online ordering. You could google to get to the sites' web pages. The discount info used to be listed there, too. If I recall, it was also cash only (in person) for the half-price tix...

(Been going to OCNJ for almost 50 years - eek!) Good luck!

Gillians had a half price ticket sale over Christmas that you could order online. The books were $10. for 25 or 30 tickets. Not sure if Playland did the Holiday sale.

On Palm Sunday weekend and Easter weekend both parks have another half price sale, with Gillians being 10$ a book and if I remember correctly, Playlands were 15$ or 20$ a sheet.

Hello! It's the weekend or two before easter and you most definitely could do mail order. I did it last year. There was an ad in the courier post (south jersey newspaper). I'm almost positive you could order online too. They also sell miniature golf tickets and go cart tickets during that sale. Great bargain, we buy them every year. It's nice to know that on any given summer evening we can load up the car and go cause tickets are already paid for. Just pay to park (or walk about 4 blocks for free) and pay for ice cream/funnel cakes/popcorn! Reasonable evening out for five!!!

Ah...Johnson's popcorn...Polish water ice...Shrivers...Brown's donuts...! Sigh... Gotta get back there!

Glad they are still doing this - and being able to do it online is great! (Those lines at Wonderland on those discount days were CRAZY! The kids love the rides - and half-price makes it possible!

Just an FYI for others interested this Easter (palm Sunday weekend to usually) is done by most (all?) of the boardwalks in NJ. Most offer online (high shipping and handling) and in person. Usually it is buy one get one on larger ticket books (some 1/2 price) or on Waterpark entry. Most last forever, even if they have an expiration date on them, ask if they expire if you are not sure. Some of the deals for Christmas are different, like a package for a set price.

Buying off season is the only way to go. DD3 and I rode a small kids coaster last year one time and it cost $7 worth of tickets for her to ride since I had to ride too. She is so used to Goofy's Barnstormer and couldn't understand why she couldn't ride it again and again...

Ahhh!! You're making me want to go to OCNJ right now! What I wouldn't do for a Brown's donut or Johnson's popcorn... I spent a lot of time there growing up and I definitely think it's time to take the kiddos this year :) I'll have to remember to get the tix too. Thanks!

I knew I could count on the dis to find this info out. Thanks everyone, info is much appreciated. I will start checking their website the month of April. Really do love this boardwalk in NJ. Thanks, Linda

For Gillian's, you can take last year's tickets at guest services and exchange them for new tickets the next season with the current year on them.

Subscribing to see if anyone will post when the see it in their local papers. Thank in advance as we head down a couple of times during the summer.
