Anyone ever buy an elliptical?

The gym where I currently go will be closing in the coming months so I am looking at purchasing an elliptical. I found one here on our base, but I am not sure what I should be looking for when purchasing one. I bought the Nordic Trak one 2 years back. It's gotten a lot of use in the past couple of years. I have to admit that I don't use it as much now as I used to because it makes a squeaking noise that bothers me when I am riding it. I had someone take a look at it and a major piece that cannot be replaces was broken. We can still ride it but eventually it'll break. They have upgraded the Nordic Trak since I purchased it. When this one goes...I'll get another...that's how much i like it.
