We've decided to (probably) rent a car for part of our stay and then came to find out that it will cost an additional $100 just for the car seats! Actually, i found out we could also rent the car seats from a baby's best friend for $20 less, which we'd probably do anyway since they tend to keep their rental equipment nice and clean, but it's still an extra $80! I know there are some of you who would never dream of "renting" car seats and would always insist on bringing your own for various reasons, but that's not my question...I just want to know if anyone has actually checked car seats in on Amtrak and how the experience went? Basically what I'm trying to say 
is I'd rather pay $80 extra then deal with any aggrevation. Just want this trip to be as relaxing as possible....
