I picked out the digital camera I REALLY-REALLY wanted for the trip (check out my countdown!) and with a commission check I got yesterday, I went to get it. Best Buy said it's discontinued! NO! I jsut picked it out a month ago!!

So, I went on line to Kodac themselves. This is what I wanted:

Kodak EasyShare 6440
4.0
Schneider-something-something lens
with dock
$349.00

And they advertised reconditioned ones. Supposed to have all warantees, etc like new ones. Right from a Kodad approved place called Buy4U or something like that.

And the cost is $299 plus free overnight shipping.

So is there undue risks? What should I keep my eye out for?

I buy almost all my electronics either reconditioned, open box, or discontinued. I've never had a problem with any of them. Not one. Every item I have every bought is still in perfect condition, including 2 camcorders, one digital camera, a computer, printer, you name it.

Even better if Kodak refered you to this location to buy it; that should carry some extra weight with it too.

That's what I thought. Didn't hurt that they threw in free overnight shipping!
