Anyone Ever Book Through Orbitz, Expedia, etc?

I have booked some plane tickets through Travelocity in the past, but never a whole trip through one of these sites.

Anyway, I found my exact same trip I priced out separately...except that I get to leave through the small airport in my town, instead of driving 3 hours...for the same price or maybe 200 more.

But, the convenience of not driving before/after the trip is worth it!

Just wondered if any have gone through these sites and if its a pain or worth it.

Should I buy WDW tix through the sites? Its not like you save that much either way...

Thanks in advance

I used Expedia for my upcoming trip to WDW. I also checked out various Disney travel agents, Disney parkages, AAA, etc. Expedia consistantly came out cheaper. I booked room-only at Pop, airfare, and car rental. Both the hotel and car rental are refundable.

Later, I decided to buy an annual pass for my tickets and used the AP discount to book into a moderate and then canceled the original hotel. The was a $25 penalty to do so, but I was saving way more than that using the AP so it didn't matter.

Before I booked with Expedia I checked out car rates from the usual companies. No one came close to matching Expedia's rate (even the company I booked through Expedia). I comparison-shopped using AAA discounts and also special offers from the companies themselves. For me, Expedia really worked well.

We booked our upcoming cruise through Expedia and have purchased various hotel/flight packages on travelocity with no problems. Travelocity's last minute deals can be a huge savings and overall great getaway for a spontaneous trip (just an FYI). I have also purchased Disney tickets through a special travelocity had for member's a few years back. The only downside to these sites (with the exception of priceline, that I know of) is the booking fee's but those are usually to be expected. Basically, I use the sites to compare prices on individual items and then purchase via the cheapest offer'ers website(ie delta, enterprise, ect). However, when it comes to packages you can find some great deals on these sites. I have never had to cancel a trip though, so as far as how easy it is to do so in case you need to cancel, I have no idea. Best of luck.

I have booked Disney trips through both Expedia and Travelocity and have never had a problem. I got the best deal last year through travelocity (price wise). Good luck!

Last year we didn't have APs for a discount so I ended up booking everything through Expedia. The prices were great on both the flight and room, but we had nothing but problems at Pop once we arrived.

They didn't show us with a package, did not have the info for the extras on the package and although we spent over 3 hours the entire vacation working with them never did get the mini golf cert, Sea Raycer cert, etc. All the extras that usually come with the package. They could, however, see we had the dining and that wasn't a problem but according to Pop the other stuff comes from a different division that did not recognize our package through Expedia. They didn't have the certificates at the resort to give us.

When all was said and done they said the problems were because we made the reservation w/ Expedia less than 21 days to arrival and that doesn't give all the divisions time to process. You don't want to know how happy we were that trip.:furious:

We booked once for WDW with Southwest vacations and it included everything and we were able to save approx $500 total. We have also used them for other trips around and it does seem that they have come in lower than others; at least the Florida ones.

Have a friend that got 2 weeks at the Swan for $50/night thru Priceline. You could hear her screaming across town when her offer was accepted. Her only complaint was that she wishes she had put in for three weeks... (Whole family had annual passes from previous trip.)

I've used Expedia, Travelocity, and Priceline for non-Orlando, non-Disney trips and never had a problem. Wouldn't expect any different if I used them for Disney.
