Anyone ever been to MK on Gay Day?

We went there 3 years ago and didn't even realize it was going on until there must have been some event going on at the Hard Rock! :earboy2: Just seemed normal crowded, nothing out of the ordinary.

WE went 2002 no big deal its like going over easter at some parks. We just do it and stick to our plan.

The whole crowd charade is a joke. It is a june weekend people. It is going to be crowded. If you want to avoid the crowds, do not go in June. Gay days is what it is, if that makes you uncomfortable then do not go.

We were in the MK last June on the Saturday of Gay Days because we had PS for CRT at 8 am. We ended up staying until after lunch and riding for a while because it really wasn't that crowded until about noon. We had four kids with us, 13, 8, 5 and 1 and we had no problems.

LMAO!! Honestly after some of the outfits  I've seen at WDW at various times of the year, that sounds a little tame, I'm afraid you might just blend in with that one!!! :earboy2:

Hmm... then I will just have to accept the challenge and find a new ensemble! (I really am very tame offline with no lime green in my wardrobe, but it is fun to dream of maybe a lime green chiffon cape? :flower: )

In another thread last week, we had a discussion about how to put together the Red / Lime Green ensemble. I was challenged to do it....but I have reconsidered.....

Trust me Red and Lime Green just does NOT work!!!!

Thank you for saying that. I was just about to post the exact same thing and you stole the words right out of my mouth. If your whole goal is to aviod crowds don't go on a June weekend.

LOL, Mister Disney!!

Yes, in another thread that got locked when some posters got off-topic and turned it into an anti-gay diatribe  , there are some good links to the Gay Days schedule(s):

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=795419

I think the consensus from that thread was that this site contains the most widely accepted schedule (at least, that's what I'm going by)

http://www.gayday.com/default.asp

There is another, different schedule on this site as well, which is causing some confusion

http://www.gaydays.com/calendar/

Hope this helps!!

Oh how I wish that I would have found this thread prior to starting this one! :rotfl: I tried doing a search before posting, but I'm having trouble with the search function and wasn't able to access anything.

I'm still confused as to which schedule is accurate, but hey, I'm not going to worry about it, that's what park hoppers are for!

:rotfl: :rotfl2: Oh I think the two colors go VERY nicely! ;) By the way, which of the two gentleman are you?! I love to put faces with everyone on the boards - when I can! :flower:

Also, quick question for those in the know... my parents will be joining us for the last part of our trip and staying at WDW for the following 2 weeks. They always come this time of year and love it; however, with the 50 year Celebration, should they expect an even larger than norm crowd?!

THANKS...

I am on the right. (or in the lime green, depending on what photo you are looking at)

we went that time a few years ago. we did not know before we went. well i think the heat bothered us more. But it was PACKED at MK (like i said we did not know that was the busy day). and i mean CROWDED. just check out the schedule and you should be fine. I do think to it will be really busy cause of the special celebration. we learned after a few trips, just to take it easy and still have fun..................enjoy...............

I can't help but ask, but, IS THAT PAINFUL? I mean you have a stick through your nose? ouch! :goodvibes

Sorry, but I disagree with you. I was there the last two years because I marched in the Star Wars Weekends parades. That particular weekend was SW Fan Club weekend, so my group made sure we had our presence there. I've gone in June a few times...twice during the same weekend, and twice during the later part of the month. You can still go in june (on a weekend, mind you) and not have it as busy. It was just the added people from two large groups (Gay Days, and the SWW groups...which at that weekend including the costuming club I'm in). But I am not going to forfiet marching in the parade for my grroup because you think I shouldn't go in June because I don't care for the crowds. Sorry if you feel it's a "joke", but give me a break...people can go whenever they want and have an opinion.

Hmmmmm..how old are you? If you are over 18, I could use my more adult answer. But since we're on a DIS board, my standard answer is NO, it does not "hurt", it is more "severe" than it looks.

NOW....having said that, if you want my "over 18" answer.....send me a private message...
