We've read so many positive reviews of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas. We'd like to attend the first two nights it is offered, Nov. 13 and 17. Has anyone ever seen it that early? Do you think it is as magical in November as December?

Part of me is thinking all of the decorations may not be up as early as Nov. 13, etc. We're still leaning toward going, though.

I'd greatly appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks!

I might be wrong, but I think this is the first year they have had MVMCP so early in November. We went last year, the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. All the decorations were up and it was wonderful!!

I would definitely go if I were you. Even if all the decorations aren't up, it will still be magical. Just watching it snow on Main Street is, well for lack of a better word... magical! Enjoy the hot chocolate, eat a cookie or three, watch the shows, see the parade, be sure and stay for the fireworks, it is special for MVMCP. We are going (again the Tuesday after T-day) this year and just thinking about it makes me want the days to go faster. Can't wait till we are walking down Main Street. :Pinkbounc

I been wondering this, too! I am going to the very first party on November 13th. I feel funny packing my santa hat and wearing it on an early/mid November trip, but so be it! :teeth: I was thrilled that Disney was having a MVMCP when I would be there, as I didn't think I would go this year. :)

I just hope everything is ready that early - like the parades are ready, and the shows are good, and the characters are out! :)

I think the crowds will be smaller and the decorations should be up but it really isn't necessary to go twice. You can do everything in one night and you could use the other night for something else.

The parties always began the weekend/week after Thanksgiving (usually the end of November) so this year's first two parties are very early and no one has ever experienced parties so early in November before this year.

I think it will be decorated and Christmasy at the parties but I doubt it will be that way at the other parks yet. Its just too early in the season, IMHO. Usually all the festivities in all the parks start after Thanksgiving.

I think there's a simple way to figure this out. If the parks were decorated for Halloween during the first MNSSHP then they will be for MVMCP.

i might be wrong but i think WDW isnt fully decked out with christmas til thanksgiving. i know in 2004 we went to WDW the 2nd week of november and it was nice but more decorations were on the way as we were told by CM's.

I can't imagine that they are selling tickets for the party without having the park ready for this. I will find out since I am also going on Nov 13th. I wanted to know if they left you in early for the christmas party like they do for the Halloween party.

Last year I was at WDW from 10/26-11/08. The MK & AK were pretty much completely decorated already for Christmas. I think they finished up MK when they took down the Halloween decorations after the last MNSSHP. EPCOT was still in F & W mode so they did not have their decorations up yet. Checking the Special events schedule for this year shows that MGM will officially begin the Osbourne Specticle of Lights on 11/13 and EPCOT will begin their Holidays Around the World on 11/24. No date for the Jammin Jungle Parade at AK yet but I believe they started on 11/14 last year. So you should be able to see a lot of Christmas Decorations during your stay. Of course MK will be Fully decoratred for the Very first MVMCP. I did however hear a rumor that the tree on Mainstreet would not appear until after Regis & Kelly tape their special. That would be a let down for the MVMCP if it isn't there.

We were also at MVMCP that same Tuesday night. It was our first one and our first time to be at WDW at that time of year. It was great. I'm so jealous that you're going back :teeth: I'm having to wait til March 2007 :woohoo:

I have tickets for my upcoming solo trip on two nights (Tuesday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Dec. 1.)

"Why?" you ask.

"Not really sure," I reply. But I sort of thought I would mainly do most of the rides and regular shows like Country Bears and Mickey's PhilarMagic on the first night (Tuesday).

And then (using the schedule of special Christmas performances I expect to get on Tuesday), to plan my Friday visit, mainly doing shows, specials, parades, fireworks, etc.

I'll see how it works anyhow, and if it should rain Tuesday or Friday I'll still have the other evening.

Enjoy.

I will be there on the 13th. I can't imagine that they wouldnt be totally prepared for all the christmas decorations then. We actually extended our trip just to be there for the MVMCP! :cool1:

WE also went after Thanksgiving last year. It was either the first night of MVMCP or the second - it was the one that was discounted (AP). So they are certainly starting earlier this year.
I agree that you should be able to see practically everything in one evening, especially if you are going so early, when the crowds are lower. Keep in mind that the modified rides - CBJ - for example, are in holiday mode during regular park hours too.

I think all the decor will be up in time. I hope so. I'm wondering though if MAYBE all the resorts will be in full gear by then. We happened to be at GF late one night when they were bringing in the decor. That was before Thanksgiving, and it was only partially transformed the first night (flowers and garlands only). Also, the Osbourne lights weren't up at MGM. They were partially up, but they weren't lighting them yet. They start November 13th this year. Epcot's "Holidays Around the World" doesn't start until November 24th, Epcot's decor might not be up by then.

As for going two nights. I agree that it might not be worth the extra bucks. The one thing to keep in mind is that regular park hours at the time of year are pretty limited. With low crowds, you'll have enough time to see everyting, but if you're really night folks (or total commandos), then the extra night hours might be worth the money. Going once was well worth the money.

There are also decorations to be seen at the resorts too. So you might want to allow time in your schedule to visit some of the resorts for their decorations. If you've never been to many of the resorts in regular mode, then you might not want to make you first visit during the holdays, but if you've ever toured a certain resort during regular times, then it is worthwhile to see the modified version. GF, AKL, and WL in particular were really nice.

For us, we wouldn't want to be at MK in late december...too much mixing of Christmas and Disney...but going in late November really put me in a holiday frame of mind. So it was nice. After we came back from FLA, we had Christmas to look forward to (so much less post-Disney trip blues)

We have been in WDW many times week before Thanksgiving and the resorts and parks are already decorated for Christmas. They do not wait till after Thanksgiving. However, usually all the Christmas stuff would start after Thanksgiving. For some reason this year the first party will be Nov 13th and the Osbourne Lights will start that week too!! I'm sure the Christmas decorations will be up at the parks by the 13th with the resorts decorating that week too.(IMO) We are so excited that we get to go to the Christmas Party! Even if it's before Thanksgiving!!!LOL
I was wondering about bringing the Santa hats for the kids and it being so weird!
I have read ticket holders will be able to enter at 4pm. I also don't see a need to do the party twice. If you get there at 4pm you'll have time to ride some rides, eat dinner and then enjoy all the party stuff from 7-12! I would make an ADR. We have ressies for Tony's.
