We were thinking of heading to Atlantis for next summer's vacay...anyone ever been our kids will be 6, 4, and almost 2. Any tips? Advice? Suggestions?

I've been for one day while on a cruise. We actually booked our room at the Comfort Suites, right next door to the Atlantis, which is much cheaper but gives the same access to pool facilities.

The water area is awesome. I was with 2 15 years olds, so my perspective is a little different that your age of children. There appeared to be lots of fun things for smaller children too.

The food is pricy, though we found a family hamburger pack offer, which was very reasonable: 4 burgers, 2 large orders of fries and 4 sodas for $25. This was out by the pool.

My daughter keeps wanting to go back to stay there.

Bring lots of $$. I haven't been but a good friend took his three kids. They had a blast! He did say it was very expensive (and he's a person that can well afford just about anything). He told me it ran him about $10,000 for the 4 of them for the week.

I went a couple of years ago with some girlfriends. I found the room for$99 a night on Travel Zoo. There were four of us splitting the room. Food was expensive and airfare wasn't cheap- we flew Jet Blue. It was a great vacation and I would stay there again.

We were there for a wedding last July. It is beautiful but as the others say - pricey for food and drinks. They seem to run various deals on line during off-peak times, so you could get lucky. The flight was a little long for us since we travelled from Boston to Miami and then needed to hop a little plane to the Bahamas.

I haven't been, but researched it for a possible trip last year. We decided to go somewhere else and wait on Atlantis until our younger dd was a little older because a lot of the water slides have a 48" height requirement. I have an 11yo, too, and wanted the four of us to be able to enjoy all the resort's offerings together.

My friends have been, too and also mentioned how expensive the food is. They'd gotten a great deal on a room, but ended up spending more on food for the week.
