Anyone ever been to any local member parties?

Got an invite yesterday for a free members party at a local museum. I had to register online. Said there would be food, characters, etc. I am sure they are going to try and sell me the Contemporary! Anyone been to one of these events before??

We also got an invitation for the Rochester party and we're in the Albany area! I think you've got it right, it's a sales promotion.

We got that invite as well, we are in Buffalo and I'm pretty sure it will be like the sale pitches on the cruises. For me it is too far to hike when I ahve to get kids to work and lessons, and etc....

I'm so glad you posted this- I asked on the Community Board and did not get a response. I'm going to the one on Sunday. The Disney characters and sweet desserts reception won me over! Plus I wouldn't mind hearing more about DVC. The free admission to the museum doesn't hurt either. We've only been there once many years ago but we loved it.

We'll be going on the 15th. Had to go to one earlier then 7 as 7:30 is DS's bedtime. We just got a membership to the museum from SIL for Xmas...you're going to love it! They redid it about 3 years ago..have you been since then? My best friend lives in Hamburg!

I'm not sure why you didn't get one...I heard that people all the way in NJ got one for Rochester. I will PM you the info!

Friends and I have gone to the Doorway to Dreams events in Schaumburg IL. They show what's going on and sometimes what's coming (saw pictures of Hawaii at one of them). At one event, we got to taste some of the food that will be served at the new restaurant in AKV.

Some serious incentives were offered but no hard sell. If you want to talk to a representative, you can, but not required.

Also got some free gifts (oh, and there was a raffle).

They are by no means horrible, they are a great place to meet up with others that share things in common with you, get yummy desserts and play trivia for prizes--some are great. I'd imagine they are pitching BLT and they know since we can't easily get to the preview center a presentation on it will light some fire. I felt no pressure but just got that fever to purchase more points--I didn't buy any more though! I'd like to go, just can't really fit it in with teens and their activites my "taxi" is booked for those dates!
