I think I know how TaylorsDad feels.
I like US/IOA for the theming, atmosphere, amazing bartenders at Finnegans (Phil, Dan & Jim ... you guys are the BEST!!!!), and the fact that you don't need to plan every minute of your vacation like you do with the folks across the street. We have an offsite timeshare, and our US/IOA days are our "relaxing days," our days where we don't have every meal planned, we don't know which park we're going to go to until we get off the people mover and pass Gump's, we don't even know how long we'll stay at the parks.
And, yes, as someone who doesn't care about HP or its wizarding world, I'm a bit nervous that my beloved parks are going to become chaotic crazy zoos packed with people all the time. See, I don't care for crowds at all!
We've renewed our annual passes (they even renewed them the other day at last year's prices ... very good customer service, imo) but this is probably going to be a year we focus more on the mouse and just try and squeeze in a beer at our favorite drinking spots at US/IOA, people watch and hit Twister/Shrek/Spiderman. We'll be down in a few weeks, again in May and then again end of August/beginning of September. So I'm hoping we'll get a feel for how this is going to impact USO.
I am, however, optimistic about the bar that used to be in the tree!!! I mean, that's going to come back, right? And they're not doing anything with Mythos, thank God.
I suppose I'm a bit resistant to change. I miss King Kong for goodness sake!
