I'm a General Hospital watcher and lately I have been extremely frustrated with the Alcazar murder situation and some of the other story lines. I wish that Jason and Courtney would just come out, Laura get better, someone confess to the murder and Jax would just butt out. Anyone else getting sick of the same ol story lines??

I am ready for this whole Alcazar murder to be over. It is getting boring.

I agree...it's really starting to drag on now, so much so that I fell asleep for the last 15 mins. of the show today!

I agree...its been dragging on long enough. I'm ready for this storyline to be over with.

I am miffed that after over 20 years on the show Rachel Ames (Audrey) didnt even get a final goodbye episode.

She didn't die did she?

She still appears now and then....maybe like twice a year!

Nope she didn't die. She was just plain fired.

General Hospital Axes Oldest Character

Soap-opera fans from the mid-'60s will fondly recall Nurse Audrey at the nurses' station with her starched white hat and her melodramatic secret: in love with one man, pregnant by another!

But 38 years wasn't enough tenure to save Audrey Hardy from being whacked by the General Hospital administration.

The veteran actress Rachel Ames, who's played Audrey since 1964, has been quietly removed from the opening credits of ABC's oldest soap. She's gone, her solid American values and good sense replaced by a daily salute to youth and crime.

Ames/Hardy — the last original cast member — is just the latest victim of General Hospital's continuing preoccupation with remaking itself as a lame excuse for The Godfather. (Also gone are fan favorites Brad Maule and Shell Kepler, as well as longtime star Genie Francis, who was the female half of the famous "Luke and Laura" duo.)

In the show's current incarnation, an untouchable mob boss named "Sonny Corinthos" (sounds like Sonny Corleone, no?), whose real name is Michael (also as in Corleone) rules the town of Port Charles, N.Y., with cotton balls in his mouth (sounds like Brando, no?) and a moll-like wife who talks like she just walked off The Sopranos.

The only relationship the show now has to the hospital in the title is that Sonny sends his victims there.

Thanks for the info Cheryl, I wasn't aware of "Audrey's" firing.

Boy, me either! That really stinks!!

Me too!! I don't like the Ned/Alexis confrontations! Although I like see Ned getting a little backbone! I don't like the new Gia at all! I keep reading that Jason and Courtney aren't a "forever thing," but Liz will still have a chance. I am SICK of the Luke/Summer saga. I really hope when Finola Hughes makes her entrance things start to move again.

Okay, I'll step down off of my soapbox! (no, pun intended) ;) :p

I haven't been watching it lately because it is boring and I'm really tired of the storylines.
I can't believe they fired Audrey, what were they thinking?

The murder storyline is like any other I've seen in the past 30 + years - drags on forever.

I read a while back that Genie Francis quit cuz of her storyline and the powers to be wouldn't let her take time off.

Wasn't aware of Rachel Ames firing tho - no loyalty in soaps I guess.

Finola Hughes is returning? I hadn't read that!

Anyone else want to slap Scotty across the face? They should change his name to Snotty! What a jerk!

If they want to keep her, they'd either be paying her some big bucks, which they'll have now, or have a better story.

I'm sick of the whole story too. Could they make Scotty a bigger jerk. Now he's a bad cop, where does this crap come from?

Can't stand the new Gia, but the old Gia was getting on my nerves too.

Finola Hughes is coming back? Is that a for sure kind of thing?

Also just for the record, I really miss the old Lucky, it's just not the same, he's just not Lucky to me.

I am another frustrated GH watcher. I am sick of Scotty playing fast and loose with the law and no one calling him on it. Right now there is no way a conviction can happen since he has tainted so much of the evidence and witnesses.

I also want to know what happened to Jax's brain. He use to think things through and figure out what the consequences were, no he just acts to he can go against whatever Sonny and Jason say..no matter what the cost to Brenda.

I am so tired of the Courtney/Jason/AJ triangle (if you even want to call it that). I find no chemistry with Courtney and Jason and see no reason why they keep having to have AJ be such a loser. Why must he alway compete with Jason.

I also find the Ned/Alexis thing boring. If they want to show her as a neurotic mother who is overprotecting of Kristina then base her keeping Ned away on something real...not jealousy. Maybe base it on the fact that he is going after Sonny and getting in bed with the mob to do it. After all, the entire reason she didn't tell Sonny he was the father (supposedly) was to keep the baby safe and out of that life. But does she bring that up for more than two seconds...and even when she does...it is about Roscoe's widow not about him going after Sonny.

Seems that they have dumbed down all the characters to make it seem that Sonny is the smart one. Guess I am just tired of the Sonny hour. I love MB and think he is a great actor, but the character of Sonny has too many much of the airtime.

And I won't even go into the Luke/Summer story...just way to much of a waste of the talent of TG.

I don't like the new Lucky either.

Scotty has always been a mix between wanting to slap him and feeling sorry for him.

Well this Lucky won't be on much longer...he didn't renew his contract so there is going to be a recast. Not sure why, it isn't like the character is being used much. Seems if you are not in the Mob storyline, there is no storyline for your character.

Finola Hughes is coming back? Is that a for sure kind of thing?
I guess as sure as anything is in Soap land! Lol;) According to the spoiler site listed below:

As for GH, as we have been reporting exclusively since summer, Finola begins taping sometime in February, this was re-confirmed for us this morning.. (1/7 from....http://groups.msn.com/GeneralHospitalHappeningsTwo/ghrumorville.msnw

Also, according to this same spoiler site.....Real Andrews will not re-sign either. I can't blame him. I'm sure he gets tired of playing the cop to never catch Sonny!

Also just for the record, I really miss the old Lucky, it's just not the same, he's just not Lucky to me

Agreed!!!

Maybe that's why soap actors only stick around for so long, they get bored with their storylines too!!

I agree with most of what you said. I used to enjoy Sonny but am really tired of the Sonny and Carly show too. Courtney and Jason cause me to change the channel, they look so uncomfortable together and there is no chemistry. And if they make Alexis Alcazar's killer I'm going back to "Days of our Lives" permanetly!!!!
