Anyone else watching Commander-In-Chief ?

Haven't seen it but I'm curious as to why it's a great show. Acting? Content?
Do you think the media might be peddling some soft propaganda to set us up for a woman (Hillary) as president?

1. Acting, Content, Writing...the show is well conceived.
2. This idea has been floating around the internet since this show was introduced. I guess anything is possible. On a personal note, I'd love to see it (a female president) happen. :teeth:

like the show. think the casting is super! It has wrapped up a little too neatly, but, like OP said we're only 3 episodes in-

Setting us up for a woman Prez? Why not?! Seems as if Britain, India, the Philippines, Pakistan etc why not the USA? Personally, I am praying for honorable, statesman (statesperson? ;) ) for leaders.
Thus, far I believe the series plays to our hopes of an honorable, tough & compassionate leader. Heck, I love dreams, that's why I'm on the DIS!

And the vice president to be is also looking pretty good, too. Are there really politician like these out there?

This show ROCKS!! Geena Davis is completely perfect for this role. Only three eps in and I am already hooked!

Ditto here. I love the show right from the first. :cool1: Somehow I have a feeling that her husband might get a better position w/in the administration than First Gentleman. I was glad he told his assistant off last night. Well, in a nice way,not like I would have. :rotfl:

I'm not that deep. I doubt it. It's just a popular idea. It's popularity certainly wouldn't hurt Hilary.

I heard Commander-in-Chief won it's Tues. time slot...that's good news for them. It looks like it will be around for a full season, at least. I was afraid to get interested in case it didn't make it. But, I like it. The writing is significantly different from the West Wing (the comparisons are going to be inevitable).

I think it's interesting that so many people are worried about the political "intensions" of a television show.

The daughter gets on my nerves though. Seems like she would have a tad bit more of a loving side towards her own mother.

She seems like a typical teenage daughter. Doesn't seem to get that her mother is the leader of the free world which is unrealistic.

I wouldn't say she "doesn't get" that her mother is leader of the free world, but rather that "that's not her problem."

This show was great again last night & boy did her husband get a job offer I didn't see coming. I loved how she fired Donald Sutherlands mole.

Ya know, I keep trying to like it but it hasn't caught my attention yet. I'm not a big fan of hour dramas anyhow. I'll give it a couple more tries. I want to like it because I like Geena Davis.

Just an FYI: One of Hillary's closest advisors is somehow connected to the show - maybe an advisor or producer or something. I did hear that on the radio the other day. I don't really care but thought it was a little interesting tidbit.

Yes, another good show last night. Yeah, that was cool that she got the axe! Somehow I think the First Gentleman will take the job as MLB Commissioner. I don't think he likes the idea of being called a wuss...

I loved that part too! I really thought Mac was going to let the other lady walk out of her office and then she said "You are relieved of your duties - and I am not speaking in metaphors." Go, Mac! :cheer2:

Yeah, Horace really hit a nerve when he called his dad a wuss. The first gentleman was sooo not happy. :scared:

Don't believe everything that you hear on talk radio....

:confused3 I don't think that we're being sold on a female president although I probably would vote for Hillary as I did very well personally when her husband was in office & I think they think along the same lines fro the most part. :rotfl2: A few differences.

I bolded the part in the quote that I wanted to address. I feel that many TV shows & possibly movies (haven't had the money to blow to go to a theater) are trying to soft peddle people of mideastern descent. I don't think they want them going through what the Japanese went through here during and after WWII. I personally do not like to see so many mideasteners getting these jobs all of sudden as I don't think it's because they deserve it but to force it down our throats. I think BIG BROTHER has something to do w/it. I also think that big brother plays both sides. They just want to make it look good.

I've TiVo'd this show. So far - so good! I too, think it's odd that the former First Lady is still in residence in the White House - like she's got no where else to go? I like Mac's Press Sec'y - LOVE that she fired the former PS! (Oh my! He said some nasty things to her when he was drunk!)
