I love to see how they can make a dish out of the combination of ingredients they get, especially with the dessert ingredients they get. And I love to learn about ingredients I've never heard of before.

We love Chopped and watch it every week. My favorite judge is Aaron Sanchez. Some of the ingredients in the baskets are crazy when they have to be used all in the same dish! lol

LOVE this show!!!! I watch it with my dd (8). She says she would like to Be on the show someday!

We love it but sometimes the judges annoy the heck out of me. I want to see THEM get up there and make something edible in that amount of time with those ingredients. I am not so sure they could.

And the one that hates onions-- Scott something? -- DUDE, if you hate onions then maybe judging a cooking show isn't the best thing for you?:headache: They shouldn't have to cook for a picky eater especially since I am guessing they don't know that ahead of time.

I loved Chopped - and I love this champion series they're doing! I can't wait to see who wins.
The judge I love to hate is Alex... seriously, can she get that scowl off her face!!!!!!

Sorry to hijack, but I have never heard of this show and with this topic being so close to the "Scary Movie" thread, I assumed it was a bloody, horror movie!

DH, DS(12), and I love this show....we DVR it and watch it later. I just love to see what they come up with...some of those ingredients are truly gross!!! I would not want to be a judge 'cause I would not want to eat half of the stuff they have to cook with!!! (bull testicles, lamb hearts, octopus... no thanks!!!)

My DS10 and I say the same thing. We like to see what they make, but we wouldn't want to have to eat any of it. Not only do they have weird ingredients, sometimes the contestants get it wrong and it ends up undercooked, not properly cleaned, etc. Eeew.

I enjoy the show, but to be honest, I think the host (Ted, from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy) is terrible. He was my favorite on Queer Eye, but he just seems to stiff and wooden on this show. Loosen up, Ted!

We all love this show. We just watched the Holloween one man the black chicken was gross.

That black chicken freaked me out. The lamb's heart was odd, but nothing compared to that chicken! I love Chopped and I acutally appreciate all of the judges, quirks and all. But, I agree that Ted is not a great host. He just seems uncomfortable. I say move Aaron Sanchez from judge to host!

I love this show too. in response to other posters I have viewed some old episodes of cooking competitions where Alex was a contestant. Also on "chef vs city" Aaron often has to do wierd cooking type challenges, and Amanada was in the final 4 of the "next iron chef", so I believe that the judges would do just fine if they had to cook!

My daughter and I also love this show. The ingredients on the Halloween episode were just ridiculous. I felt really bad for those chefs. There is no way I could compete, I am not creative at all and I could not come up with a plan that fast on what I would do with their crazy ingredients but it is fun to watch others do it.

I would love to see a version with at home chefs, rather than professionals. That would be very entertaining. Considering many of the chefs have never used some of the ingredients, it would be fascinating to see just your average cook try it.

My whole family loves this show. I tease my kids about the exotic ingrediants these chefs have to use and the judges have to eat yet my kid's won't even try broccoli!

:rotfl: sicko :rotfl:

I love this show, its one of my and dd's favorite. We went to a cooking class today at the Culinary Inst. and one of the students said that she has class like this, they have a basket full of mystery ingredients and have to make something using them. That would be my favorite class!

the Scott Conant nightmare basket: Red onions, some type of fish, and cheese

cause along with hating raw red onions and meatballs, he believes pairing cheese with seafood is a crime.... so someone needs to make fish meatballs, covered with cheese and sprinkled with raw red onions ;)

I love to make panko-coated fish for sandwiches as a quick and easy meal, and I ALWAYS put cheese on mine. But since I started watching Chopped... now I feel kind of bad about it, like I'm doing something WRONG. :confused3
