Anyone else waitlisted for AKV add-on?

Our use-year (June) is currently sold out, so we're on the waitlist for 100 points. I'm assuming they become available as more of the building is complete.

Anyone else? Has anyone been on the waitlist and already gotten them?

We are also on a wait list for June for 150 points. DH spoke to our guide yesterday and was told soon, very soon. We should hear by beginning of July. It's hard to wait though!!!

Hmm...now you guys have me concerned. We are going down in October to buy and our Guide said plenty would be available. For us they need to be as they don't sell to my province and we NEED to buy down there. If not, we can't go on a wait-list.

Thanks for sharing, Cyndibear; it's interesting to hear about others in the same situation. Plus your guide's info was interesting, though you're probably further up the waitlist than we are.

U2, I wouldn't worry too much. I think the deal is that they are releasing points to sell gradually, either as units are finished or when they have specific dates for units to be finished. So I wouldn't worry that they'll be sold out forever, just that they might not be immediately available. Only certainh use years (any others besides June?) are unavailable right now. But they should lock in the price and incentive for you, shielding you from any potential price increase. We're on the waitlist at $93 per point ($101-$8).

I just spoke with my guide. August is not waitlisted yet. But maybe soon. So, I guess that I will have to decide very quickly on my add-on. i.e. discount or double points. She did say that besides June, there are other months with a waitlist. I believe that she also mentioned March.

We are waitlisted for a 100 pts with a Feb. UY. We have been on the list for going on 3 weeks. So add Feb. to the list of currently sold-out UY.

March is also waitlisted. We have been waiting to hear something since June 1st.

Our guide (new one assigned to us since our original guide left for another position with Disney during our discussions) said we'd have 30 days locked in at the (pre-June 4th) incentive rate ($93).

Then after 30 days, if the March 2007 UT points are not available, we'd have to either approve the purchase without the 07 points or the incentive rate would expire.

Still waiting to hear something.

Hmm, interesting, Egg. Ours didn't say anything about a time limit on the price. If they pull that on us, we just won't do the add-on at this time. Maybe Contemporary or Grand Californian!

Just put on the waitlist for June today. I was told 25 waiting in front of me and that Feb and March waitlisting as well. My guide was not in this vacation so I spoke to another guide. She said she was hoping that in July more inventory will be available. The models are really nice.

March is waitlisted. Although this is not the same as the sold out resorts, where the wait could be long. According to our guide, it is strictly because they are allowed to sell points based on the construction progress. More points are available for sale as the project progesses toward completion. There are definitely plenty of points to go around - just have to be timed to the actual construction. He said that points should be available within 3 weeks or so.

I don't remember ever hearing of anything like this. We added on when points first became available. The demand for this resort is scarey. Is this what it is coming to?

Just a quick 'bump'...

...and clarification.

From what I understand from our Guide....the UYs for each month are available. What is not available are the 2007 UY points that were being used as an incentive.

In other words, I can buy into AKV for the March UY - but beginning with 2008 UY points.

So, we are on a waitlist for the 2007 March points....and it's been 4 weeks with no word from our Guide. There aren't enough 'current' accomodations to relaease the 2007 points yet. So until and unless they get some of those AKV rooms done soon...
