Anyone else waiting for the floods to come?

We are in the Phila suburbs and the flooding could be the worst in a century (or so they say). We are pretty lucky that we don't live near a body of water but our streets get pretty backed up. Our stone fireplace sprung a leak and it trickled into our built in curio cabinet :sad2: . I know DH will be out working tonight.

Lucky me....we live in South Jersey, almost next to the Delaware :guilty: . The houses across the street have a creek that runs behind them :guilty: .

I, too, am dreading what may lie ahead.

I'm not in any of the rain areas but I'm keeping a watch on the Philly area, my older sister lives around that way (Pottstown area) and I want to see how things are doing out there.

Thoughts and prayers with her... Pottstown was one of the areas they say could get hit pretty bad :guilty:

I feel your pain. The Boston area has had 22" of rain in May and June -- the most in like a 100 years. We are just starting to dry out. Hang in there.

It is pretty bad here (Lancaster County). We drove home from dinner tonight and had to go way out of the way because many roads are under water. Policeman were out detouring traffic.
Our basement never gets water but the one corner that is dirt (the house is over 100 years old) has about a 1/2" of water. We'll be keeping an eye on it.
Conestoga Creek which is at flood level at 11' is supposed to crest tonight at 19.5'. I hope everyone stays safe!

I'm near the Raritan river and they are saying we could have flooding tomorrow as it's pouring now.

We had three days of almost constant heavy rain. It really got to be annoying, and that was for those of us who don't live near bodies of water. I think it's supposed to be better tomorrow--finally! :umbrella:

That's what I heard, hopefully she is far enough away from the water, she isn't actually in Pottstown, but it's the closest bigger size area I could think of.

We are in central PA along the Susquehanna River. It is supposed to crest on Thursday well above flood stage. Our house is in no danger from the river but we just started to get water in the basement. We have as much stuff picked up as possible. I rather have what we have than deal with what those along the river will later.

Silly Me-I would like to find a site that tells how much rainfall we actually received these past few days.

Yikes, they've declared states of emergency for Lancaster & Dauphin Counties and Harrisburg. They are talking about doing evacuations in some areas :guilty:

Carbon and Schuylkill Counties, too. There is a list of road closings on the tv now. It looks like dd6 is going to work with me again tomorrow.
