Anyone else wacthing VH1's "I love toys" ?

Oh, I am! I miss my Weebles! But, then, I love toys....

oh yeah slip n slides....oh I remember the scrapes from running off the end of it.

Oh god slip n slides were the best. And my siblings and I pooled our allowance for like..I dunno..3 mos to buy one of the original Gameboys. We had Tetris, Yoshi (I think that's what it was called..it was like Dr.Mario except with Yoshi the dinosaur), Wave Racer and something else. I forget what.

I also had My Little Ponies...we had a lot of them, including some of the Seaponies and the Baby Bonnet Dance Studio. You opened it up and put the ponies on these little circles, which you could turn a handle and they would spin around. :rotfl2:

I also remember my mom's church having one of the original The Farmer Says.... toys with the pull-string.

TOV

We had agreat life with all the hands on toys of the day.

Many would be and rightly so be banded today do to safety reasons BUT boy were they fun.

60-41 was my favorite episode so far. So many of my favorites in that hour. Oh, and........

COBRAAAAAAAAAAAA!

DH just turned this on...he's a big kid.

Loved the slip'n'slide but my dad wouldn't let us play on it too much, said it ruined the grass

I love "I Love Toys"! It brings back such great memories from when I was a kid. I miss playing with toys. We really had great toys back in the day. Kids now dont have the same kind of toys we did. Toys today kinda suck. IMO Kids today are just missing out.

Oh, yeah...we're watching. I'm a huge fan of all the "I Love..." series on VH1. This one with toys is just a great walk down memory lane.

I do have one gripe, though... Get Hal Sparks out of the Cobra costume and have him doing commentary!! I miss him!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

The only problem I'm having with the show is now that they've done so many versions of I Love the 70's, 80's and 90's, it seems like I've seen all these toys mentioned (with a lot of similar jokes) on those shows as well.

does anybody else think that crayons and teddy bears should have been much higher on the list? I mean, I loved silly putty but imho it did not deserve a spot above crayons!

any guesses as to the top five?

I questioned whether crayons are really "toys", so I didn't have an issue with that one. Teddy bears, I'll agree, probably should have been higher.

My guesses for Top 5? Monopoly, Barbie, GI Joe, Yo-yo and Legos

I'm such a dork I got so excited when I saw Speak and Spell.

since watching i officially decided to get a new pogo stick for my birthday in may. i forgot how much i lvoed that thing.

dani,
you're not the only one that got excited to see Speak n Spell. ;) My girlfriend and I started talking about that one yesterday because of the show! :teeth:

what toy was number 1? I fell asleep before it was announced.

Yeah, mtemm, I have the same question--what was No. 1?

I fell asleep after Play Doh.
