Now we're Savannah View, and I'm even more excited about the trip. Best part is, DS is going to blow a gasket when we tell him.:teeth:

I just said to DH last night...
sometimes I feel sad for *only* staying at DVC resorts...
I miss the code crazies;);)

LOL!!!
Glad to hear you booked Savannah - I hear it's amazing!!!!;);)

OKW looks lovely as well. And getting to DTD by water is so cool.

Believe it or not when the code came out we decided to downsize! We went from the Polynesian to Port Orleans, deciding that our champagne taste didn't match our beer budget!:p We are just as excited though! Our first trip to WDW was at POR so we can't wait to sink our teeth into banana stuffed french toast!

MBB dear, there's no reason to feel left out of the "code crazies" just bcs we own DVC now. For our April trip, we've got two rooms booked over the first weekend at, of course, AKL (our fav'); compare 73 pts a weekend night BWV 2BR Std view to our BDP code for two savannah view rooms (one a deluxe bunk-bed, the other a regular with King bed) which is gonna run ~us$550 a night combined. We are bringing the Grandparents (my folks from Maine) and my niece with us this time, and none of them have ever been. So AKL savannah view is just about perfect for that first weekend, dontcha think?

Of course when we get a deal like this and end up saving points, should we then rent those points out, so our friends who don't yet own DVC can experience the fun of OKW (which really is lovely and very spacious, Mortlives) or the other DVC resorts.

You know, I was hoping for AP codes for that weekend, but the BDP code was just great. I also got a quote for $151 a night for regular Savannah view in January. Didn't quite tempt us away from our VB plans, esp. since we're going to AKL in April anyway. And the "Canadian at par" deal they announced this week (I saw it on www.mousesavers.com) looked pretty darn good too.

We were booked at Pop with a hope and prayer that codes would come out for our 3 night stay in January, and they did! We upgraded to AKL, Savannah view. I'm just happy the $ is doing so well!

My DH and DD commented when we were eating at Boma on our last visit that they would love to stay at AKL, well now we are and they don't even know! My DD knows we're going to WDW after our cruise but my DH doesn't, it should be a great surprise for them when we pull up in front of AKL!

I had consider upgrading from Pop to Port Orleans cause I've always wanted to stay there and said that if I ever had the extra money to spare I would stay at Port Orleans. Well when the code came out and I had the chance to stay at POR for the same price as my originally booked Pop, I changed my mind. I figure for the extra $20 US or so, we're saving per night - we'd stay at Pop and spend the money elsewhere. We won't be spending much time at the hotel anyway and with the nicer amenities at POR we'd just be wishing we had more time to spend there.

Good point, jtdl. When we were at AKL last October (on the awesome 7 nights for the price of 4 package (oh yeah, great deal there), the thing we keep kicking ourselves about was not spending more time at AKL. Certainly POFQ would present similar regrets, with the awesome pool they have there. Since you're going to be doing more intensive touring this time, I think POP is a good call with the savings (plus it's a really fun theme, having toured just prior to opening). When we get to AKL in April, we'll take at least one day just to hang around and soak in the resort.

Glad others have benefitted so well from the new codes.

We're planning on doing the same thing in Feb. We'll be arriving early afternoon, and just hanging. And then having coffee on the balcony in the mornings and BEvERages in the evening. Since I'm the original hot tub fanatic and DS takes after me in the pool enthusiasm department, I think we'll have no problem doing the facilities justice.

That reminds me: Does anyone happen to know if you have to pay extra to use the health club facilities if you're a guest of the resort they're at?

Kungaloosh!
