Ugh. I'm trying not to get sinusitis. I've been taking Mucinex D and Theraflu warming relief for Sever Cough and Cold. The Theraflu warming relief is great! But the Mucinex D helps me to sleep through the night. Both products are helping to loosen the gunk and keeps coughing down. My throat is starting to feel better because the drainage is slowing.

Keeping my fingers crossed. Anyone else in the same boat?

Yes. Mine is only my nose/sinuses, though. Along with lots of sneezing. :headache:

How can my head be so stuffed full of "stuff" but my nose is still running constantly? :confused3

I slept terrible last night and was probably honking. My poor DH.

Oh, do I feel your pain. I had the worst chest congestion that I ever had. It is finallly getting better after a month. DH is still coughing from a cold he had months ago. I am beginning to think that we will both be coughing until it gets warm. Only five months to go.

I am finally 99% over a 2 week long cold. I went through about a million Kleenexes, LOL. Mucinex D helped me a lot, but it really dried me out so be sure to drink lots of fluids. With the cold, I was out of work sick for the first few days, then I felt better, but the runny nose just wouldn't go away until 2 weeks had passed.

I know what you mean about that! I almost have to drink lots of water because of the yucky aftertaste. But the stuff does work. In fact, I need to pick up some more. That was the only thing that helped me sleep through the night. I was taking something else for awhile and I'd wake up after 4 hours with a coughing fit. Not fun. I looked through our med. cabinet and found the Mucinex D from a time before. Worked like a charm.

Glad you are feeling better.

 Ugh!! I've been sick since Thanksgiving night. It started with a sore throat. My throat is fine now but I have the worst cough/cold. I'm glad I have it now and will hopefully be better before Christmas. I just hope my kids don't get it. I don't want them sick for Christmas.

I'm sorry - my hubby is starting to get a cold - yuck!

That sinus rinse kit that NeilMed makes has really helped around here a lot. Use at the beginning of a cold. My younger son really suffers - we had him tested for just about everything thinking maybe it was allergies. Nope - but the gal suggested the Nasal Rinse, and it really has made a difference. He is 10 - so if he can do it- anyone can!

I've had a pretty major eye infection going on the past few days. Boss is 100% unsympathetic. I don't know why I would expect him to be, though.

YES!! I am totally with you! I have had this awful cold for 4 days now and I am about to break down and go to the doctor. I have a procedure for my back scheduled next week and they just told me if I am not better, they will not see me and I wont be able to get back in for 2 months!! I have got to kick this cold!

My DH started like this on Thanksgiving too with the sore throat. He went to the doctor yesterday and has pneumonia (had the chest xray and bloodwork done to confirm). Usually he battles sinusitis all winter long and he even perforated his eardrum last winter because of it. We were joking last night that the cold is killing him and we need to move south.........

*raising hand* Me! I went to the dr last Monday with drainage thinking I had a sinus infection and it turned out to be Pharyngitis. So between Amox and Musinex-D I am feeling much better.

Now DH has the sinus drainage. Poor guy! We really have to watch it with him since he started Chemo last week.

So many are sick with upper respitory issues around here as well.
Ds has had a runny nose for 2 weeks, dmil and dfil both have honking colds, my dh uncle has pneumonia and my bf has bronchitis and an ear infection.
I suffer from chronic and acute sinusitis and that flared up Sunday night, so my dr called in my antibiotics and had me pop in to make sure that it was just the same ole same ole.
I have been at the hospital and nursing home almost daily for my gram, and I work at an elementary school....There was no way I could avoid getting sick!

I hope everyone gets well soon. And Jenvenza, I hope you can have your procedure as planned.

It's no fun fighting this mess and trying to get it together to go shopping for the holidays. It zaps your energy. :sad2:

Yup, terrible cold, but my heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people at Sudafed who let me go back to work today after I had to call in sick tomorrow. Just can't seem to get my temperature down, though. I'm coming to the end of Day 4.

Just starting my 3rd week here. I just got back from the dr. 10 minutes ago and she gave me 2 prescriptions for my sinusitis. Zpak antibiotic and cough medicine with codeine for night. She said my sinuses look bad and I had a temperature of 100 in the office, although I don't feel like I had a temp.

She said to get some Mucinex to take in the day to help. She said it'll take up to 5-10 more days for it to go away. She recommended to get the flu shot once I get better. I was going to get it, but I got sick and couldn't get one.

I usually get sick like this once a year and it's always in November. I get sick in the spring when the weather changes again, but it's not as bad. Usually I just take some Sudafed and that's that. This one is very stubborn.

That's funny, I usually get sick in the Spring and Fall too. I had started taking Mucinex or Sudafed to keep from getting infections. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Don't know why. Maybe sometimes I don't take the meds soon enough.

ColoradoMom!!, I have heard of the sinus rinse before but haven't tried it. It might be less expensive in the long run than some of these other meds. The Mucinex DM I got today was $25 for a big bottle. I know it will last, but it was sticker shock  just the same.

Are you talking about a Neti Pot?? I've been thinking of trying one. Do you think it helps you recover quicker? I have literally been sick for a month and I'm so annoyed. First was a nasty stomach virus that took a week to recover then I had a few mediocre days and BAM hit with this mess.... It's moved to my chest and no one recognizes me when I answer the phone. It's hilarious really - they'll call and ask for me and I say "this is" then they ask again and I repeat it - no one can believe it's really me... Ugh. I need to get better - we have APs and want to do WDW during the holidays - no time for this garbage and if it goes through the whole family we'll be out of luck. Doc has me taking an anti-inflammatory, tylenol, mucinex and sudafed... It's helping, but sure not getting rid of it. At least I'm not in so much pain and I'm not running a 102 fever anymore.:sad2:

I am so thankful for behind-the-counter drugs. ;) Ya know, the ones you have to sign your first born child over so you can buy them?

My head isn't as stuffy anymore, but I'm still sneezing. :headache:

It could be worse, I know.

Dh has had his for 2 weeks now. I think he has pneumonia but he won't go to the dr, typical :confused3 . He gets one more day then I am just stopping at the urgent care on the way home from work. I am sick of him coughing all night long then being crabby all day from not getting enough sleep.
