We're heading to Disney next Friday :D . I can't wait it's all I can think about. The only problem is that when i'm there, I tend to run myself ragged and don't relax as much as I think I should. At home, I work FT, have a 3YO, have a DH, a house, etc, etc, and my life runs on chaos almost 24/7. Anyone else have a problem watching the clock, stressing, etc., on vacation? How do you just kick up your heels and relax? We have 2 no-park days scheduled out of 7 days, so i'm hoping those days can me more relaxed than my park nazi self the other days.

I am most certainly not a type A, but my dh is. This is the main reason we bought into DVC!!! We found that only at WDW does he have any fun. We used to rent a cottage on the Cape for 2 weeks and he would start going into work after the 4th day!!! He just gets bored. But, at WDW, we can run around as much as he wants and then he doesn't mind just relaxing by the pool. Perfect place for a type A!!!

Yeah usually the 5th day or so of a 7 night stay I start to relax... Then it's time to go back to work. :( I keep telling my husband that we just need to start taking 2 week trips.

That used to be me on vacations. The only way I have found to make myself more calm is to take more vacations! It might sound crazy, but when we go more often, I feel less pressure to do everything, see everything. I just catch it the next time around.

We run around all year...both me and my wife..working FT, the kids (their 20 and 18 now...still going to school..so they live at home). My wife keeps a clean house...so we are always picking up, ect. we run 24/7 too....doing this and that..blah blah.

But

When we vacation at WDW.....we do not rush...sure we have a plan...but we take it as we go. We get up early..go to the parks...but swim and take nice naps in the afternoon.
It's time to relax...thats the idea...to forget about your grind and let Walt "take you away"!

Definetely me. Dh always teases me and says I thought we were suppose to rest on vacation. I told him I had 30 minutes of hammock time scheduled for him at the poly. This past trip we cancelled universal because of the impending storms and spent the time at the grotto pool at the swan until the storm came. He said, now this is what I call a vacation. Our park passes were done, so it was really all we had left to do. we did everything else! I just feel like I always want to see and do everything and get our moneys worth. I do let the ds do things on their own during our trip because they are older, but I have a schedule and they have to stick to it, right down to the ps seating times. My kids have known me long enough, after all Mary Poppins is perfect in every way.:)
