Anyone else tired of the "I hate Stitch" threads?

LOVE Stitch, tried SGE once dislike the attraction ... very much. So, now I don't ride it when we visit the MK. I just sit and relax while the three in my family enjoy the attraction!! Simple as that!!! :thumbsup2

You know what.....

If I have to cull through 200 "I love my CROCS!" threads and one million "Who's there in September" threads and 600 "When is POC closed and should I cancel my trip" threads and 10,000 "Who wants to do the 580 day dance with me   :Pinkbounc " as well as "What's with all the EVCs?" and "When are the Brazilians coming" and "Can I sneak my 3 1/2 year old in" and "Is AK worth it?" and "I can't believe we are playing this Epcot game!!"..........

Then I think we can deal with another Stitch thread.

(Oh, yes, I forgot -- the daily '"Should I get TGM or UOG or both")

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: So true! I can't believe that a true Disney fan could actually ask if Ak is worth it. :sad2:

First of all, it's called Stitch's Great Escape. From this many people infer that it's a kid-friendly attraction, since Stitch is a kid-friendly character. I sure thought so when I heard that Stitch would be replacing AE. But that's a falacy - it's dark, it's loud, and it's scary, just as much so as AE. "How could a cute little blue guy like Stitch possibly be scary?" many people think, and so they go in without reading any of the warnings, and little kids wind up getting scared.

Next, the storyline is not well fleshed out. As one of those folks who has not seen Lilo & Stitch, I was unfamiliar with any fo the characters except Stitch himself, completely confused by the plot, and puzzled by the fact that the animatronic Stitch had 6 arms. I thought Stitch only had 2 arms - was that Stitch, or his cousin Mitch? I had no idea what was going on.

It's LOUD. I found the 'cannon' shots to be terribly loud, almost to the point of pain.

And finally, the chili dog burp is not only disgusting, but sickening. The smell actually makes people nauseous, including me.

Woo hoo!!! Thanks for this description! Seriously, now I can hardly wait to see this attraction.
I loved AE, and I was under the impression that it was replaced with a calm, almost boring attraction, but according to your description, I was wrong!
Thanks again!

:goodvibes Everyone has their own opinions and that's why we have all these threads. We have been on AE and really enjoyed it (scared my then 5 year old half to death, but she got over it quickly) and we will be checking out "Stich" on this coming trip. We will go with an open mind and judge for ourselves. Maybe we'll be writing on the "I Hate" or "I Love" Stich threads in the future.

Just for reference, nearly every time one of those "which attraction do you least like at WDW" threads comes up; Stitch's Great Escape and Mission:Space top the list.

It seems pretty clear that the attraction isn't amongst the widely beloved.

I guess I'm one of the few who like the Stitch ride. During the show I looked around and thought, 'Why are these kids screaming?!!' I love the ride, but the kids that scream seriously annoy me. :sad2: After the show I went and bought myself some Stitch ears. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

i don't get the whole "hating" the ride thing. it wasn't THAT bad. i mean, come on....i'd much rather be on Stitch's Great Escape than It's A Small World ANYDAY! it's not like it was a HUGE difference from the Alien Encounter. i just liked AE a smidge more because it was a "scary" ride, but it's not like i hate stitch or anything.

what i DO hate is that Lights, Motor, Action Stunt Show because they had to knock down the Golden Girls and Empty Nest house to put it in!! jerks!! princess:

They were both NOT the houses used in the TV shows.
They were "re-creations" of the "fake houses" used in the shows.
These TV shows were shot and on the air before the MGM back lot was even built.

But if "fake" "fake houses" was your thing, that's cool.

I have to admit that I am a little disappointed with the stitch ride….and I have not even been on it yet. I thought it was going to be something similar to Buzz ( I LOVE BUZZZ) ….I’m not sure what the stitch ride is like but it looks like you just set there.

To origninal poster, no I am not tired of seeing "I hate Stitch threads", because it caused you, for example, to become so riled up that you started a complaint about it.....which was my evil diabolical plan all along.....Mmmwwhahahahahahaha!!! (my best attempt at typing an evil diabolical laugh) :rotfl:

....... an hour plus wait to sit in the most uncomfortable - even painful when the shoulder harness comes down - seats in a smelly, noisy theatre. OK I could "enjoy" all of these experiences if the attraction (IMO) was good but .......

I've done it only the once - never again - and it takes me all my time to stop screaming at the long queues for the attraction as I walk by "Don't do it, don't waste your time , but I agree that everyone has a right to discover for themselves what this show(?) is all about.

Oh, by the way, I hated AE almost as much. I guess this kind of attraction doesn't do it for me, but it doesn't appear that I'm alone. :confused3

You people crack me up. We all have rides/ shows that just aren't for us (I can't stand Pirates of Caribbean), but not all of us waste time "screaming" about how others shouldn't give it a try.

I wrote the original post because there were four "I hate Stitch" threads on the front page that day. I don't read the threads anymore, because we like the ride. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and all of the Stitch-Haters can "scream" as loud as they want... but some of us are tired of it and aren't listening.

So basically, A) I hate that they took away my favorite Tomorrowland attraction, and B) I hate that they replaced it with something that is so cheap, flimsy, and cheesy that the old XS Technology logos weren't even taken off the walls during the makeover.

Fair enough.
That's all I think I really wanted.

I don't agree with you, but like I said, people have the rights to their own opinion. It just bothers me when people just say 'x is stupid and also stupid i hate it!!!!' and just leave it at that. It's ignorant.

I don't mind the ride, just the character getting shoved down our throats all over the parks. Is he really that popular?

::yes::

We love Stitch as well. We just know when to hold our noses. I laugh so hard when I do this "ride" (since its not really a ride) I have done AE and while I liked it I didn't like it as much as I like Stitch. My 7 year old neice thinks me and my DH and I are crazy because we have so many Stitch things around our house!! I can see more Stitch stuff coming soon!!

:firefight

With respect, I believe I did say just that.

Everything I posted was all just one person's opinion (apparently shared by one or two others) but that doesn't disqualify me from stating that opinion on this thread - does it?

That sound you heard was my jaw hitting the floor. I've heard varying opinions on most every Disney ride, but you are the first person I've ever encountered that dislikes Pirates -- you shall be tied to the capstan and given 50 lashes! pirate:

Seriously, you're entitled to your opinion. I have my own dirty secrets. I'd rather have my teeth filed down than have to spend a hot day in Animal Kingdom. My own opinion on Stitch is that I hate, hate, hate it, even though I've never actually experienced it. ;) Sorry, but I loved the Extraterrorestrial thing. It was one of the few Disney "rides" that was outright scary.

I also love "It's a Small World". Those little swiss mountain goats just kill me.

So there. :smokin:
