Anyone else think RNR hurts?

 I'm wondering if anyone else feels like I do, that RNR just gives me a headache. It's my DS (9)'s favority DHS ride, but my head gets knocked back and forth between the side headrests, and I get really nauseous. It's the only WDW ride that does that to me. Anyone else have this issue? and if so, maybe is there a way to avoid it?

My head bounces back and forth. I think it's cause I don't hold my head back hard enough. I always have that problem with corkscrews. Still love the ride, though..:upsidedow

I passed on it this year and didn't have a headache that night.
I LOVE that ride and will probably never go on it again:sad1:

I noticed that the first time I rode. But I find if I make an effort to keep my head held back against the head rest then things are fine.

YES! This ride makes me so sick. I ride it once for nostalgia sake, but I could not ride it anymore. The only other ride that does this to me is the orange side of Mission Space.

You have to hold your head back. We had a roller coaster here in Pittsburgh called the Steel Phantom and they made you take off your earrings because your head bounced between the pads on the loops. So many people refused to ride it because of the head movement, they redesigned it and took out the loops and the harness was no longer needed.

I think it's less rough in the front of the car. The back is rougher.

If it hurts you then you should skip it and send your DS though alone. My DD did the Single Rider line for the first time when she was 9. You could probably even walk all the way up to the front with him and then take the "chicken exit" and meet up with him after the ride for the first time.

Where do you typically sit? We rode the back once because we love the back on Space Mountain and BTMR, never again on RnR. It whips you around so much more than the front. Same goes for EE. Those 2 rides we always ask for the front.

Agreed! This happened to me the first couple of times. You do have to make an effort to put your head back. After I figured that one out it is one of the smoothest coaster I have ever been on.

I always feel pain on this ride too. I wear hearing aides though so when my ears bang against the side it pushes on them in my ears. Never stops me from riding it though! I don't get a headache. I will make more of an effort to hold my head back next time.

I noticed long ago that the back was rougher than the front. Now when I go on I sit in the front half of the coaster. The closer to the front the better.

Thanks all! Now that I think about it, we were in the back almost every time, so now I'll ask to get toward the front....great idea! And try to hold my head back! If I could just get there and try, only 25 more days.

I get headache every time, too. I take excedrin with me to the park! It's worth it in my opinion. I LOVE that ride!

I was told to hold yoru head forward! It works great. I never have a headache and it doesnt bounce it around everywhere.

I get headaches too from it, but usually after I've ridden it a couple of times in a row. I've tried holding my head back too, but I still get them. Now if I remember, I take some ibuprofen or Tylenol before I ride it.

TY all for the heads up on getting a headache while riding RNC. I have never rode it but am headache prone anyway sooo that solves that "decision" to ride it or not.:cool1:

It always seem to make my neck hurt:confused3? But maybe it's because my spinal fluid is getting higher due to the pressures:eek:. I love that ride and only ride once, but this is also the one I have to go O2 less :rolleyes1
