Anyone else think AK is the hottest park in the world?

I always find this park to be the hottest!!!

Is it because of all the vegetation?
I almost died of heat there this past June
Used our mister the whole time we were there which was only 4 hours. That was enough for me

I agree completely!
I don;t usually go during the ''hot'' weather months, but one year I went in Spt and it was 90-95 every day that week, and I thought I would melt for sure at AK. I do think it is the vegetation, because there are some spots where you almost feel like your inside when you're really outside.
This is not a complaint, I love AK  (but it is hot)

I've heard this mant times before. I'm glad i'm going in oct i hope i will be able to enjoy AK than.

I love AK but I agree about the heat.... I just thought it was me.

I have always thought this! We always go first thing in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the heat of the day. I think it is because there isn't as many places there to avoid the heat and as other posters have said the vegetation seems to keep the heat in. We still like it though.

I remember the first time we went to AK shortly after it opened. They actually had cast members spraying water hoses in the air to cool people off.

We know people at WDW this week. They went to AK today and had to leave early because of the heat.

I am glad it isn't just me. Any time of the year it seems so miserable hot at DAK. DD loves it but man was it hot this last June, March, December...

Yes- Animal Kingdom in July is really hot- it's feels like you're really in a whole other country- planet even!

Yep, I agree! I think AK tends to be muggier, which seems alot hotter! Give me 100 and dry over 85 and humid any day!

When we went in early May this year, it was hot at MK, Epcot and MGM but there was very little humidity so it was ok for me (I don't mind hot, but HATE humidity) then when we went to AK, I was just dripping, I'm sure the temprature was the same as at the other parks, but it was definitely alot more humid there. I would think probably because of the vegetation and watering they do?

I think its the lack of "Big Structures" that make it warmer then any other park. IMO, Epcot between World Showcase "Main Entrance" and Future World is also pretty hot!!

We just got back, & animal kingdom had to be the hottest in the world!

We were there in early May as well. But the day we were at AK (May 4th I think) was in the 70's and very comfortable. Our day at MGM on the other hand (April 30th) was close to 90 and very humid.

Yep just back and we actually had to leave AK because of the heat. I think it is because of the lack of cool inside rides that give you a break in the other parks. The only cool place we found was Dinosaur- and Rafiki's planet watch. We felt like we were baking there. Too bad too because we love this park.

Sorry to say was there in october as well as november. still pretty darn hot.

wonder how it is on emh nites.

anyone know?

It is so hot there :sunny:

A cast member told me that when AK was made, it was purposly made lower than the other parks to help make heat which helps the plants grow that are there. How true this is - I don't know :confused3

What I do know is, we can't go there because my DH gets so hot there that he can barely breath. The one and only time we went, we arrived when they opened and we left by noon.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to experience a hot AK!

When we were there in March '04, it was actually chilly enough for pants and jackets. Since we were only there for four days, we toughed it out, but we still laugh about our trip to freezing Africa.

Wow! My whole family would agree that this is the hottest park! One time it was so hot and humid our cameras kept fogging up all morning. Even the photographer guy who was taking our picture as we arrived had to keep wiping off his camera lens!

I wanted to enjoy this park last August, but it was just too hot.

Me and my family did surprisingly well with the other parks because there were more places to take breaks in the AC, but when we went into one of the gift shops in AK the doors were open and the overhead fans were on. It was a cooler then outside but certainly not like the cool AC in the other parks. After that I just looked at my wife and said let's go I can't take much more.

It was a shame they didn't design this park better because it looked like a beautiful park but the heat didn't allow us to enjoy it.

YES....we agree it is the hottest park, we get there as soon as they open and were outta there at 1 or so. :earseek:
