I just realized we could take an 8:05 pm flight home, which would give us an extra, full day at the parks. I feel foolish that I never noticed/thought of this option before...does anyone else do this to get another day into the vacation without paying for another night at a hotel, etc.?

I would do that if I could...our flight home departs at 2:00pm so theres not much we can do on that day..I'd say go for it!

we're doing it this year for the first time... we had planned originally to stay one more night and leave at noontime, but then we realized we had an obligation at church the next day, so we are getting an 8pm flight home saturday night... we are planning to rent a car that morning at the ccc and after checkout just hit the streets of orlando (LOL) and wander to things off-site ::gasp:: ;) it should be fun!

We usually take the earliest flight in & the latest flight out. This trip, DH wanted to get home before 10pm, so we are taking an earlier flight home - Ack! I have to give up 2 more hours of Park time..... The agony!

Whenver possible
. . . we take the earliest flight on arrival day
. . . we take the latest flight on departure day

same for us - our flight leaves Syracuse at 8:20 am and for our departure from Orlando we leave after 5pm - get there quick and leave late!!!!

We usually get the first flight in and the last flight out.

This trip our flight in is at 5:30am! But our flight out will get to Pittsburgh at 8:30pm, because we still have to drive 1 1/2 hrs to get home and I have work the next day!

We are flying in early and our flight leaves at 6:30 pm. it was the latest I could get on that day.

We have started to do the same now that the kids are getting older. It's like a bonus day. All four of us usually pick our 2 favorites and go from there.

That's exactly what we do! I love our last day in the World..we check out about 10am...bell services look after our luggage...then we have around 6.5 hrs to enjoy :flower:

I actually do this on ALL of my vacations, not just to the World. We typically leave on a 6 a.m. flight, and return on the last flight out, which is about 7:30 p.m.

If you're staying on property, you can check out that morning, and then have bell services hold your bags for you. I've even come back to the resort, retrieved my bag from bell services, and used the lobby restroom for a quick "spit bath" and a change of clothes after a hot day at the parks.

Do it - it gives you a whole other day at the parks!!!

We always take the last non-stop to Albany out of Orlando. This year it will be 6:45 PM. We'll leave WDW about 3:30 that day.

Yes, it works out wonderfully.

We are taking an 8:05PM flight home for the first time this trip as well. We won't get home until 1:30AM. On the way out (we come from California) we are flying at night and will arrive in Florida at 6:30AM. We are expecting to be tired, but we're going to give it a try. It's essentially two extra park days - yeah!!

Always! We usually take a flight around 6 am and end up in a park by about 11 am or so. On the last day we try to get the latest flight possible.

::MickeyMo We usually fly out of Syracuse also although last trip was Rochester because it was cheaper despite the 2 hour drive and our upcoming trip will be out of Albany again because of price. ;) We also choose the earliest flight down and the latest back. Yay! 49 more days!! :cool1: Rebecca

Like a lot of others, we try to take the first flight heading down and the last flight heading home. On our next trip we have a 6:30am flight out of Philadelphia and an 8:35pm flight out of Orlando.

We are doing the opposite-we are coming in from the
west coast on a "redeye" flight..we leave sfo at 11pm
arrive orlando 9am..figure we should be a resort by
10:30 am?? (just a guess, anyone know?) so then we
have a full day at the parks when we arrive.
our flight leaves orlando 5:30 pm, figure we will have
until 2:30 ish at the parks, assuming we are packed,
checked out, bags stored by bellhop. (again, anyone
please let me know if my time frames are accurate?)
thanks! :disrocks:

When flying we try to arrive as soon as possible. We have been known to fly in a day early and priceline a hotel, and we always take the latest flight back to PVD. That gives us time to check out, and spend time around the pool. In Feb however, this meant time in the hotel lobby as it was pouring outside. Not a problem, DS and DH both found chair and sofas in which they could sleep! LOL

I do the same. We fly out of Boston at 6:30AM and fly home at 7:30PM. We won't go to a park on that day. We'll go to DTD and eat lunch, shop around and go on the boats. I do this anywhere I go, you get more vacation time!
