Anyone else stuck on the ME yesterday??

Was anyone else stuck on the ME yesterday when they closed the airport? We were stuck at the airport for over an hour and they eventually let some people off who wanted to walk becuase they were afraid they would miss their flight but they came right back when they couldn't get into the airport.
They never even told us what the problem was at first but when it became clear that people were going to miss their flights they asked everyone what airline they were flying and how many in their party. Then Disney callled the airlines and asked if they could hold their flight and SW did. I know some people had already missed their flight and was wondering if Disney did anything for them, even though realistically it was not Disney's fault, they picked us up 3 hours ahead. I have to admit there wasn't any yelling or complaining about missing their flights, we were basically talking about what we did on our trip. We were all in a pretty good mood in spite of what was happening.
Oh, and thank GOD we had a restroom on the bus

Wow..this is the first that I heard about the airport being closed. Guess I will have to google it and see what happened.

MCO was not closed, but it appears part of Terminal A was evacuated because of a suspicious bag:

Yes, SW held up the flight after Disney called them and let them know we had a busload of stranded people right outside the airport. I'm guessing people who had rental cars didn't make theirs.

Were you already checked in? They could have dropped you off on the B side and you could have then proceeded right through security...

I am SOOOO glad I was already gone when this happened. The employee shuttle bus picks up right where ME drops off on the A side, and I would NOT have wanted to be stranded from getting to my car, which is parked a mile away...

The traffic was so backed up no one could go anywhere.

And people who via their own vehichle, by town car, other public transportation - I bet a lot of people missed flights.
