Our company has not sent them out. As the CFO here, I can tell you that year end involves more than printing and mailing papers to emplyees. Nothing gets mailed until everything is verified. Even after that, it takes quite a chunk of time to sort, stuff and run postage on 6000 W-2's.
We always mail on the last day of January, whether they are ready early or not. If we were to mail them early, next year everyone would be calling the payroll dept looking for them before the due date, which causes more work by having to field the calls.
