Anyone else seeing the products I can't find in stores anymore in their local market?

Used to like having little pocket rolls of candy while at work, something I could easily unwrap real quick and get a little sugar boost while I'm moving around. In the past that would've generally been Charms or Lifesavers. Now I can't find either anywhere, even in candy stores that sell nothing else.

I also found that I like the Real Sugar version of Pepsi, but my grocery stores don't sell it in bottle form anymore, only can, and canned pepsi goes flat way too quickly (the sole reason I prefer Coke).

I like individual wrapped Mentos, good to give DS when he was stressing. I found them on Amazon. I just looked and they sell individually wrapped Lifesavers.

Individually wrapped my store sells, but not the rolls, nor any other store near me. Can't figure out why. I'm sure they're still made.

The stores (Walgreens, cvs, and target all had them) by me are currently selling the holiday life saver books that have multiple rolls in them. If you like a variety of flavors that may work. I’ll have to look to see if they are selling the individual rolls.

I read an article recently about how many companies are reducing the variety of products they offer to save costs (production, storage, etc) and because they realized they will sell more if there is less variety. Apparently, over 90% of revenue comes from only a small fraction of products, and some cut everything that doesn’t fall into this category. It is possible this includes the items you can’t find anymore.

Here is an article about this for reference:

I was also going to suggest Amazon. We find almost anything on there and usually comes pretty quickly.

Note to self ~ don't post late when tired. I thought you were looking for individually wrapped. Funny my stores sell roll Mentos but no individual.

When I watch the Shark Tank show, they always talk about how hard it is to break into or maintain a presence in some industries due to everyone in that category competing for the limited allotted shelf space in stores. It could be that rolled candies are not as popular anymore and have been pushed out of that shelf space by other types of candies.

You’re not the only one. Going to 5 different grocery stores to piece together things and to navigate prices. It’s becoming exhausting.

The last place I saw rolled candy was World Cost Market and Gas Stations.

Definitely Amazon

Have you asked your grocery store about the Pepsi? I know our store carries some sugar sweetened sodas, including Pepsi products. If your store doesn’t carry it in general stock, they may be able to order it for you.

My wife found and bought Charms at a candy store in a farmers market. They sold many types of vintage candies. She says her grandmother worked at a factory that produced Charms in the 1930s.

One grocery store here stocks some of their real-sugar sodas in the International Foods aisle, rather than with the other sodas, so check there.

I like the real sugar Pepsi as well, but I buy the tiny cans because that's all I want at one time.

I like the real sugar Dr. Pepper, which is a Pepsi product in our area, but I only buy it occasionally as a treat.

Definitely Amazon

I'll check Target next time I'm there. I like to get their brand of sparkling water because it's caffeinated. Just strange that it's so hard to find in stores now. I don't like having to order online if I can help it because of the cost of shipping and time of delivery.

I would prefer to drink real sugar pepsi over coke, but only if it's in the bottle. Canned pepsi goes flat way too quickly.

Another one that really makes me mad is Claim Jumper pot pies. Those things blew Marie Calendars out of the water.

Where the hell did they all go?

It’s been 10+ years since I have seen rolled lifesavers for sale in local stores.

Even the “books” sold at Christmas have changed over to gummy lifesavers.

They are apparently just not that popular anymore.

Amazon is basically an overstock website. When companies and factories remove items from bricks and mortar stores, lines that dont sell, seasonal items etc , instead of storing them in their own warehouse, they sell them to Amazon.
I was told this years ago by a Sketchers store employee in my local mall. I was looking for a specific seasonal shoe that I had seen a few weeks earlier in the store but when I went back to buy it, they had changed the stock. The store employee gave me the product information and told me to check Amazon. I did and I found the shoes I wanted.

I'm curious about this assessment. Do you feel it goes flat in storage, before you open it, or do you mean the bubbles don't last as long after you open it?
