Anyone else run into this with Jet Blue/AMEX?

Both my husband and I each applied for our own Jet Blue Amex; yes, for the 50 True Blue points but primarily to extend our current points' expiration by another year.

Why in the world does it take so blessed long for AMEX/Jet Blue --- wherever the problem is -- to recognize that we've made our purchases on the card and our points should be extended another year?

We've received and paid 2 bills from Amex already. And we lost 8 points today because they expired while -- whoever's fault it is -- is taking their sweet old time recognizing us as Jet Blue/True Blue peeps who should've been granted an extension. :headache:

I tried to call AMEX. AMEX referred me to Jet Blue. Tried to call Jet Blue; they want an email.

So now I guess I sit and wait -- for another 8 points to expire in a week.

Anyone else run into this? Any pointers in hurrying this along?

TIA

No pointers to hurry it along, sorry. You call JB once AMEX figures everything out and they will gladly reinstate the points. You have up to something like 12 or 16 weeks to claim the expired points. We did that and had no problems at all. I think the points expired in February of this year and first week of May we were all set. As you mentioned we went through two billing cycles. JB will usually tell you to wait until AMEX starts recognizing the points though. Good luck.

I got my JetBlue/AMEX card a couple of years ago and remember that it took a good couple of months for everything to be "available" to use points etc with my TrueBlue account. Not sure exactly how long but do remember it took awhile because I was waiting for my points to be activated in time to buy a fare to WDW. It was at least 2 billing cycles. Good Luck!!

Thanks!

If I can get those points reinstated, that takes a load off my exasperation. :)

You'll be able to no problem. I was worried about the same thing and they were expiring a couple days after we applied. They went back in and did it with no problem. I haven't looked into how the new JB TrueBlue program is going to work yet, but apparently they new points can be converted to the old points to get the round trip benefit. Need to check it out in more detail though.

I opened up 2 cards last year for this promo. One in my name and one in my husband's name. This also coincided with another promo where you received 50 true blue points for purchasing certain fares in a certain time period. I figured essentially this 1 flight could give my husband and myself each a free flight.
Well what a nightmare. Same as you both Amex and Jetblue kept referring me to each other. JetBlue kept insisting I received the 50 points for opening up the card and completely disregarded the other promo. Fortunately I was able to find the promo info and finally after months and many many emails it was straightened out and I did receive my free flight vouchers. I have since closed both accounts.

Got the card last year and got a free flight after first use and with the 50 points got another free flight voucher a few months later. Not sure on the timing, but this was one card worth getting....as long as you pay it off monthly!

Of course with the new True Blue program, points won't expire for anyone as long as you fly JB once per year. It looks like the only benefit to the JB Amex is extra bonus points for paying for your tickets with the card.
