Anyone else pleased at Disney food prices?

We've been a bunch of times, and with the exception of Character meals, I think the prices are fine. I think the portions you get for your money are great. If you compare it to any local park here, same price, way better quality.

I think it's priced pretty well consittering where we are.Theme parks are always high but I think it's decent for the food.

I wouldn't compare Disney food to regular type restaurants in our area (there just really isn't any comparison to be made when you take into account theming and location ) If I compare to our local amusement park (Cedar Point, America's Roller Coast) I have to say that Disney has them beat by 20 miles!!

At Cedar Point, the food is truly awful. I can't even think of anything that has been "passable" except for one kiosk that sells awesome french fries. Other than that, it is pretty bad. You pay about $10 for a burger that is plain... I mean NOTHING to put on it besides watered down ketchup or mustard. You don't even get an option for adding anything else.

Luckily we have season passes and when we go, we plan our meals outside of the park (we don't stay for long amounts of time) but i do feel bad for those who visit and are hostage there for the day because their options are limited and it's all expensive and pretty gross.

The rides are great, though! I would still pick Disney over the roller coasters any day of the week!

Wow, some of you live in expensive areas. WDW restaurants are way more expensive than our local restaurants but still about what I expect for a themepark. To me the buffets are expensive but not so much the other places.

Pricing out our upcoming trip and I was pleasently surprised at the cost of food for a theme park.
Some of the character meals are a bit pricey, but all things considered feeding 2 adults and a child at a qs is about the same price as going to mcdonalds.
I think that's pretty good for a theme park, especially since you can bring drinks and snacks into the park.

Was wondering whether other people feel it is good value or do some feel it's too expensive?

As a fellow Canadian - I find Disney's prices to be cheap compared to what we pay here. Even the TS restaurants are comparative or cheaper than what we pay for eating out. And the food portions are huge (even snacks) so it is easy to share which makes things even more inexpensive.

We have been to Disneyworld 3x over the past 2 years and we have stayed off-site and I can not believe how cheap groceries are compared to what we pay. A 4 litre of milk is $5-$6 here and in Florida - it is just under $3. All the dairy products were about half the price of what we pay here and the frozen food items were 1/3 of what we pay here. The fresh fruit and vegetables were comparable though.

We are heading back to Disney in November and have ADR at Coral Reef and all the prices there are totally comparable to what I would pay here for the same meal if not a couple of dollars cheaper.

I've never snarled at the WDW food prices. I live less than 30 minutes from Six Flags Great America. Went there thru out my teenage years and then took my own kids year after year. Just as expensive if not more and certainly not any better.


** yes, you can bring your own food in a cooler and take a break, going back to your car in the parking lot.

We were at the Brad Paisley concert last night at Darien Lake (a former Six Flags.) We were tied to the food stands they had there since it's about an hour drive for us. All they had were unhealthy items. I wound up getting chicken tenders. Guess how much? $8.75! For THREE. That was it, no fries, etc. We also got a pretzel and a bottle of water. Pretzel was $4.50 and the water was $4. Definitely more expensive than WDW!! I told my boyfriend, "I will never complain about prices at Disney again."

Boston McDonalds is about $7.20 - $7.90 for a combo meal. Happy Meals are about $4.10.

Dinner entree at a Boston restaurant $22 - $30 on average. Of course there are many places, too, you'll pay $50 and up.

The only think I find a tad expensive at Disney is the breakfast buffets..but youre paying to see characters too!
