Anyone else planning for Oct 2022 yet?

I am! We've never been during Halloween so very excited about it. We'll be going over my son's fall break for 6 days.

Thinking we'll just do a good neighbor hotel rather than onsite. I've been researching nearly all of them and comparing prices (I'm the type that has an excel spreadsheet going of all costs!). It looks like they don't book more than a year out so have to wait a few months to get true pricing and make a reservation.

It's been a few years since we were at DL so there are a lot of new attractions I'm really looking forward to!

I am. I try to go in October and December, sometimes spring and summer. It is amazing in October. The decor, the food offerings, special events. All of it! I enjoy every single minute!

Yeah we are so excited. We haven't been during any holiday event. The kids are already thinking about what costumes they might want to wear.

Where do you usually stay when you go?

In my head I am.

We had a surprise trip booked and paid for October 2020 for our little girls 5th birthday. First trip to Disneyland for her and would have been mine and my husbands second trip.

American Airlines cancelled flying from New Zealand due to covid so that trip didn't happen. Our boarders are still not fully open yet so won't get there this year (like I was hoping for last year when cancelled).

I'm hoping we get there for October 2022 but it's so hard to plan as who knows what is going to happen.

Yeah I have to believe that things will be mostly back to normal by then, but it's definitely uncertain for sure. Fingers crossed for you! We've celebrated our kids' birthdays at WDW and DL Paris and it is magical for sure. My birthday is in November so I might just tell them it is my birthday when we go. lol

Putting this out there in case others are wondering -

Looks like most of the off-site hotels open up their reservations 50 weeks out. Already have a reminder on my calendar to book as soon as they open to make sure I get the hotel I want.

I'm trying to add a night on to the end of an Adventures by Disney SoCal trip in May and I read elsewhere that Disney's hotel bookings for 2022 supposedly open up August 1st. If you're considering an on-site stay it might be worth checking then. I'm trying to decide if it's worth doing a night at Disneyland Hotel or just grabbing a good-neighbor hotel room.

No, I'm specifically referencing off site hotels. I'll update my post to make that clearer, definitely missed that point!

And I'll say as much as I would love to stay onsite the difference in price between onsite and offsite is just insane to me. And offsite hotels seem to be actually closer in walking distance if you're booked at one at the entrance. I'd much rather save money to actually spend in the parks than on a room I'll barely see.
