Anyone else notice ocean view rooms are gone in June 2021?

I booked a June 2021 cruise on the Fantasy yesterday. I noticed today that the ocean view rooms are no longer available on most June cruises. They were all available yesterday.

I saw a rumor online (with no substantiation whatsoever so take it for what it's worth) that someone with a currently booked sailing for this fall was told by DCL that they are only booking verandah rooms right now-no inside or oceanview staterooms-in order to keep ship capacity down. That'll be interesting if true. So maybe DCL is moving that booking logic out into next year.

We are booked into an Oceanview cabin on the May 2021 Eastbound transatlantic. If they want to move us to a verandah that’s fine with me.

I've also noticed a lot of concierge booking up. People are putting that 125% to good use, upgrading.

Hi, We are booked with 2 adjoining state rooms for next August. Is there a chance we can upgrade to a concierge room at no extra cost??

Thanks, I kept reading and figured out the 125% is for rebooking a cancelled cruise
Sorry, misunderstood your question. Depends on what category of connecting staterooms. If your in a deluxe family verandah (cat 4) you *might* be able to move to a cat V, but it depends a lot on the sailing and what prices have done. If you’re in a lower category, (say a cat 7a) it would be much harder to find a concierge level. Of course it would also help if you were going from say a 7 night in a cat 7 to a five night cat V if that makes sense. So it’s possible but you’d have to do your homework and gets less likely depending on your original booking.

I find this interesting as we're booked on the February 2021 Westbound Panama Canal trip on the Wonder, and that itinerary SOLD OUT pretty much the week the it was available last year. How are they going to respond to all the guests that booked inside and Ocean View staterooms? Kick people in those staterooms off the sailing? This seems odd to have one ship not sail full and another one is still fully occupied.

Actually you are right. I also read that ships are doing it because if someone has Covid symptoms and they cant disembark the ship and its quarantined people will have outside access for he 2+ weeks.

It's doubtful that it would be equal. We have two veranda cabins for 7/31/21 and it's $15k and some change. I looked at concierge and the lowest cabin in the category was $21k (and my husband's a jerk and unequivocally said, "No." - Something about paying the mortgage, I don't know.) I was surprised there was that big of a discrepancy.

I was doing some research just in case we get canceled for our upcoming cruise and noticed there is only one available Fantasy cruise in June and half of that cruise is actually in July. They really need to release the late 2021 itineraries because the selections to chose from for re-booking are getting pretty slim. Of the few cruises that are still available, many of the veranda and concierge rooms are booked up. Also, the longer they hold off on cancelling our cruises, the less and less selection becomes available of their less than 12 months of bookable cruises on the website.

A bunch of ocean views were unavailable yesterday too.

Royal Caribbean and Carnival have late 2021 and early 2022 ready. Why hasn't Disney?

I think DCL is being cautious with future itineraries. There are a few ports that are reevaluating which ships will be allowed to dock. Key West is one of those ports. Disney is probably confirming every port for every itinerary before posting.
