Anyone else not "Wowed" by Inception?

I'm waiting for the DVD. DS's friend said, wait for the DVD and rewind to review when you get confused. Seems a bit complicated. I felt that way while watching that 'butterflies.....mind' film.(sorry can't remember the title)

Just because you don't like a movie doesn't mean its a bad movie.

It just means that it wasn't your type of film.

While I truly enjoyed Despicable Me, it is a totally different movie genre than Inception.

Inception to me was an exceptional film. I am a huge movie buff and will pretty much go see anything, I just am not a fan of Gory so just because I don't like those movies doesn't mean they are bad.

Inception as a movie was very intriguing and makes you think, that is something that Chris Nolan enjoys doing. I love all his films. He was robbed of an Oscar Nomination for The Dark Knight and Inception he did not use any major computer generated shots. He used the actors as much as possible.

Hollywood is running out of original ideas, they want to remake everything...Where are the future screen writers? Directors? That can make great films?

Now granted this Scrooge McDuck thing is interesting but I do not feel that he copied this idea intentionally.

This did not remind me of The Martrix at all.

Avatar was 10 times more like The Matrix than this movie.

Most people today want instant gratification and if it makes them wait for a moment or actually think they get upset and say I didn't get it.

It's a shame because this is one of the top 10 films I have ever seen.

I think where this movie missed the mark with me is it seemed like they were trying too hard. Everything was overdone, almost to the point of being laughable. They tried so hard to make it confusing that it wasn't confusing. They tried so hard to make it original that it wasn't original. The beauty of The Prestige was its subtle build to an explosive finale. Beautifully done, IMHO. Inception was just TOO much of everything and needed some finesse breathed into it. The premise to the film seemed so promising and could have been amazing if done right.

I agree that The Dark Knight was a great movie too. Not on the level of The Prestige, but definitely a really good one.

I don't think that anyone is really saying it's a bad movie. Just that they didn't like it.

I like movies that make me think, but I couldn't hear half the dialog because the background noise/music was too loud.

That's actually two movies and I combined the titles. I figured you meant one of them. Or both :). They both are also about alternative realities or dreams, at least as far as I remember.
