Anyone else NOT taking a vacation this summer?

Us either.......if you saw my "leaky pipes" thread you can see why. All of our $$ is going to home repairs.

Poor me! Both sets of parents are celebrating 50th wedding anniv. this summer, so we'll have to buy plane tickets to attend those events, but I certainly don't consider either of those a "vacation..." esp. the in-laws, which I consider more like "hell."

This will be the second year with no vacation.....I thought I was doing ok with that but the closer the summer gets....the harder the thought of not getting away and relaxing is getting.....
Last year our DD got married in June....so all of the extra $$ went towards the beautiful wedding and reception.....this year we are building a new home.....and the $$ are already targeted for that....also youngest DD made the Dance team at her high school and the cost is outrageous....1200 up front and then almost 500 for summer dance camps.....(and this is public school)
Well....I am getting away but it will be a working trip.....my DD that got married last summer is expecting her first child and she and her hubby have asked me to be in the delivery room. He is in the airforce and they were transferred to Illinois last year.....so I will get away and have a special time/////

Yup. We never go away in Summer, it's always Winter or Spring that we go away.

Plus we've had our summer & are supposed to be in Autumn,but someone forgot to tell the Weather Forecast that, as it's still summer temps.

Well after the Cedar Point weekend in May, it doesn't look like we are going anywhere either.


We have a car to buy. We are paying cash for the car, so we don't have to carry full insurance or car payments!!!!!

No vacation for us either. We got married and bought a house last summer, so this summer it's time to save money! If anything, we'll go somewhere for a long weekend for our anniversary, but that would be it.

No summer vacation here. Dh is low man on the vacation pole so he didn't get any weeks in the summer and I HAD to take a week of mine before May 1 so I took off spring break and painted the kids rooms. We are taking 4 days in October during fall break and going to Universal, so we do have something to look forward to.

We didn't go on vacation at all last year. Financially things were tigher than usual. This year we have a trip planned to disney in Nov/Dec and we are really looking forward to it.

Nope....no trip NEXT summer either! Hoping big time for Dec '05 to WDW! (Hope I havn't gone insane by then)
Here's the salt in the wound....just let a worlwide ticket expire 3/31. DH said it wasn't worth the extra $$ it would've cost to actually go /stay somewhere. Yeah...this from the guy who travels for work all the time.

trying to save for disney 4/05
that is our 10th anniversary

we had second dd last June so no vacation last year
I don't know if I want to spend the money this year or not
it cost almost as much to go to the shore as it does to disney
