Hi Everybody,

We just got back and usually when we go come right home and schedule another trip! This time we have decided to hold off and see how our finances go and pay off some debt! I'm not as sad about it as I thought I would be. I still love Disney, but I am trying to be financially responsible for a little while.
It feels weird being on the boards with no trip planned!! Anyone else in my shoes?? We have talked about a Disney cruise but have not made any definite plans.

BTW, while at Disney this time I would say things about this or that and my DH would say "How do you know that?" And I would say "My friends told me" And he knew that I was talking about my DIS friends!! :grouphug:

We just got back this past Saturday from our fifth Disney trip with kids and have no trip planned and, honestly, I'm not sure when we'll go back next -- might be as long as 10 or more years. (Last trip before last week was 10 months ago.) Our DS's are hitting the years when they need to be in school (GPA now really counts), need to be at their sporting events, need to be at their jobs, etc. and will be at the age where they are old enough to stay home by themselves but we don't want to leave them home by themselves (girlfriends and whatever else going on while we're gone).

We're also probably too far away to do a quick stay at either WDW or DL so I'm not sure when we'll go back again. Maybe in 15 years when the DW and I will hopefully be empty nesters.

We don't have a trip planned either. Everytime I talk to my DH about it, he just rolls his eyes. He is not a Disney fanatic like I am, he goes along because he knows the kids and I enjoy it. But that doesn't stop me from visiting the boards daily and dreaming about going. I keep a notebook of things I would like to do just in case DH says,"Let's Go".

Not to WDW. We, unfortunately, had to cancel our January trip, which is sad for a few reasons. 1) We have gone every January for YEARS now, 2) Some friends who were meeting us there that live in Tampa will still be going without us, 3) This will make over one year since we've been to WDW (yes, we did go to DL in September for 7 days, but still!).

But, we do have a trip to Las Vegas (first timers) in the works for June, partially booked. And my sister and I are taking our mom to Hawaii this coming sept/oct for her birthday. It was her present we gave her this past oct, so she can help plan it. We have started researching and can't wait!

No trip planned here, I WISHED!!! My daughter is getting married Feb '08 so now is the time to pay off the credit cards and get read for recharge.

It's sad to read about everyone's excitment about going to WDW and wishing that it was me.

This is the first time in about 5 years we don't have a trip planned anywhere! We usually travel a lot and I'm a little obsessed with planning trips (not just Disney.) Because we don't know how my recovery from surgery will go, we don't have anything planned. It's a little wierd...and sad, but mostly weird!

We went to WDW twice this year so we are going to take some time off. We don't have a trip planned to WDW, but we do have a trip booked for Mexico in August. I can imagine that sometime in the spring I will start planning our 7 day Disney cruise though.

No trip for us either, at least until 2008. My wife is 4 months pregnant and we are trying to reduce our debt as well. (sigh) Hope everyone who gets to go has a wonderful time.

No trips planned since our holiday last Mar/April to WDW.

If we do book up anywhere, it will most likely be in Europe.

We haven't been since April of 2005 and still have no trip planned. I'm in college and we're having one heck of a time trying to figure out when all of us could go, since my sister and stepsister are in high school and can't be pulled out of school, and my mom's a teacher. And of course college spring break is nowhere near when my family has a school break, and with all the "other parents" my mom and stepdad say Christmas break is out as well. You get the picture. It stinks too because I know my mom and stepdad are going to lose DVC points if we don't go soon
For a couple sweet weeks it looked like I might get to go soon. A friend really wanted me to fly down and we'd go to the parks (she lives in Florida). But it appears that trip is not going to happen :sad2: Nothing like getting your hopes destroyed...

No trip currently planned. Kind of sad because it's nice when I'm having a bad day to have something to look forward to, but we're being realistic and it's not in the cards right now. I had to have two surgeries this fall and DH got hurt at work so money is tight right now. I'm debating a mommy and me trip with my oldest as it's something that I've said I wanted to do and it would certainly be cheaper for two than for five. No concrete plans though. We're also contemplating moving out of CT and I am pushing for GA. It'd be nice to be close enough to WDW that a weekend trip was feasible.

We have taken trips to Disney too many times and this year we didn't go.. and I doubt we will go next year either. I miss Disney, but I have to understand that I have no budget to save for Disney.. so I just learned how to accept the fact that we can't go. I'm okay with it.

Not really, but I usually go a fairly long time between trips. However, I might be going next December, so I'm sort of planning that.

No trip here. :sad2:
Well not at least one we are really going to take. I do however, have my pretend trip saved online for next December. ;)
We are having a new baby next March and figure with a newborn and trying to pay off a few things, its best we wait at least two years. I am not sure if I can hold out that long though honestly. I am already having withdrawals and we just came back from a trip this past September.

I don't have a trip planned.

Not sure when I will ever get back to WDW (just got back from my first trip to Europe in October and went to Euro Disney).

You think it feels weird being on this board with no trip planned try checking out the tripadvisor boards like i do each day to the places i have been.

It's always good to dream about your next up coming trip whenever that may be.

i still check out the NYC trip advisor and check out flight prices you never know when you might just end up going somewhere,

nope we havent been since 2001 actually and I dont see us going back any time soon. We went to DL this year so we wont be going there again soon either.

I just hang around for the cookies. ;)

Congrats on your baby! We just had a baby in July...

Actually - this will be my moment to brag.

My DH and I just sat down this summer w/ a financial advisor - we've got it all figured out. In four years, we will be debt free. We have been through some really hard times with those AWFUL credit cards - I can't describe to you the feeling to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel FINALLY!

POINT IS: In 2011, we are going to WDW to celebrate!! - all the $ that we're putting into the debt every month we are going to save and enjoy TWO WEEKS AT THE POLY IN 2011!! My oldest will be 10 and my baby will be 4!!...I personally wouldn't want to take a child younger than 4, anyway.

I feel like an idiot with a ticker that says 4 YEARS!! It's nice to see that I'm not alone and that there are others that won't be at WDW for a long time, but still enjoy the message boards!

Thanks for making me feel normal!! :Pinkbounc
