Anyone else not have a clue what Pirates...Carib. 3 was about?

:rotfl: I am loving this thread! For about two weeks now, my husband has been on a POTC kick. Every night, it's a different Pirates movie. I played along the first two nights, but by the third night I had enough. And if I hear that "He's a Pirate" music one more time .... I mean, I love the music but this is just overkill. Pick a new DVD already. Pick another trilogy/series. Star Wars, Superman, Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, the Muppets ... Just choose something else.

If he wants a PIRATE movie so badly, I can look through the box of old VHS tapes until I find "The Pirate Movie" (Remember that, with Christopher Atkins and Kristy McNichol from the 80's?). That will teach him:

He could just be on a Depp kick, too. He was looking at my "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" DVD earlier. As much as I love the whole "Match in the gas tank ... Boom, Boom!" thing, I'm Depped out.

I totally could not follow these at the theatre and had to wait for the dvd to put on the close captioning. Geez I cannot understand their accents. Same with the Harry Potter movies. But reading the words I can follow along and I liked the 3rd movie. I won't rush out to see the 4th, but I think it sounds good as it deals with the fountain of youth. I'll wait for the dvd so i can read the words and follow along:laughing:

Sorry! POC 3 was my favorite of the three films. I think it has a great plot. I've watched it many times.

You know: I was hoping in the 3rd that at least one part would tell how Jack and Beckett knew each other, I mean Beckett really had issues with Jack and made a statement in the 2nd one about how each other left a mark on each other with Jack being branded with the pirate tattoo.

Because Jack was a pirate and pirates robbed East India Company ships. And got branded when they were caught.

I haven't made it through a pirates movie awake yet... i don't dislike them, just can't make it through them.

Me too! The fight scenes are really great and I like the meeting of the Brethren Court. LOVE the scenes with Keith Richards.

Actually, as much as I love JD, the part with the multiple Jacks are my least favorite scene in the movie. ('cept of course the whole shirtless thing )

There are several plots within the plot going on and it all tangles up but I thought that was what made it good.

Count me in, as another who loved this movie! I usually sit through movies going, "I know what's happening next. Yawn." I mean, I even found Inception predictable (but fun!). This was twisty!

And I LOVED the meta-craziness of the Multiple Jacks. Now we know what the inside of his brain looks like! :lmao:

I now understand the bringing Barbosa back, I was clueless until you all helped. But the entire Will thing leaves me scratching my head. But I love the movie.

I love the third one! It's actually my favorite of the trilogy. The characters are much more developed and the fight scenes are awesome. The trip to the locker always gets me excited for the rest of the movie. :)
