Anyone else NOT going to LOTR--Two Towers?

I feel so alone! I didn't like the first LOTR at all--someone even had the nerve to tell me I had no place teaching English literature since I didn't like the book or the movie. I am not a fantasy/sci-fi fan--I spend most of the time when I have to go to those movies thinking about how farfetched they are. I know it's "good vs. evil" but I have NO plans to spend $9 to see another one of these films! Am I the only one?

No, you're not. I thought the first one was pretty draggy. It had alot of action, but it's not my kind of action. If I DO go see it, it will only be because my DD wants to see the next one. But I don't even think she will, because she hid under her jacket for most of the first one.

I never read the book, it just isn't my thing. I bought the DVD for DH, he thought it was great, but I did not watch it. I suppose it will be the same with this one.

Nope, you are not alone. I could hardly stay awake through "fellowship".

Maybe on DVD.

I didn't see the first one, won't see any of them. Not my cup of tea!

didn't see the first one... not ogint o see the second one...

I haven't seen the first one yet! I just never got around to it I guess. Lord of the Rings isn't really my thing, but I'm the kind of person who will watch the movie just because I figure if so many people like it, it must be pretty good. I'm planning on renting Fellowship of the Ring this weekend and if I like it, I'll go see The Two Towers.

I didn't like the first one at all (actually, I slept through quite a bit of it!), so I won't be going to the next one. As a matter of fact, I remember telling DH they'd have to pay ME before I would watch the next one!

Part of me would like to, but the 8 months pregnant part of me that would be uncomfortable sitting in that chair and that would have to use the restroom 6 times during the movie doesn't want to. DH went with some of his friends tonight to go see it. I do like some sci-fi stuff, but LOTR just isn't worth it. If it was a new Star Wars movie, I'd be there for the first midnight showing. But I've even surprised myself by not going to see the new Star Trek movie. I figure it will come to Blockbuster soon enough.
